Owensboro Catholic (7-0) goes on the road coming off the bye to face Edmonson County (4-3). The Aces, barring significant surprise, our march to another undefeated regular season. Brady Atwell should be at some approximation of full strength coming off the bye week. This was 48-7 last year in favor of the Aces. I expect a very similar result this year.

The Juggernauts of Lloyd Memorial (6-1) go on the road to face district foe Lexington Catholic (1-6). Both are 1 - 0 in the district after each winning this past week. For Lexington Catholic, that happens to be their only win of the year. Even though the records are lopsided, Lexington Catholic has played a brutal schedule that should have them prepared to go undefeated in the district. This game, however, represents the most likely chance at a loss in the district in the regular season. It was their closest game in the district last year, albeit still a 41-0 blowout. Even with a Knights squad with such a dismal record, this should still be a clear cut victory for the home squad.

I don't think home field advantage can save the Boone County Rebels (2-5) here. After coming off a blowout loss to Highlands, they now get the pleasure of hosting the Cooper Jaguars (8-0) in a district matchup. This will almost certainly be another game where Cooper reaches the running clock margin before halftime. Jaguars early and often.

Scott County has everything clicking now after a dreadfully slow start to the year. But it is now the last stretch of the regular season and the heart of district play and they seem healthy and playing together. Their run offense is one of the most formidable in the whole state as demonstrated specifically by their decisive 28-7 victory over South Oldham, one of the premier running defenses in the class.
