The Cardinals of Scott County (4-3) host South Oldham (6-1) in what is a crucial tilt for district standings. This was a blowout last year but 2024 finds a Cardinals team that took a while to get their legs under them. But they may well be there now. Both of these teams depend on the rush, Scott County more so than the Dragons. Both teams will have multiple carriers involved in their rush offense.

Ethan Arnold is the dual threat QB of the Dragons. He just lifted them up over district foe Woodford County for a 5 point win in which he went for 116 yards passing and 2 passing touchdowns as well as 57 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown. To me, he is the key to the game. Scott County will get their yards and they are going to score around 25 to 35 points. And the Dragons will get their rushing yards from various carriers BUT will they also be able to get yards both on the ground and through the air from Arnold? If Scott County can contain him, they win. If they cannot, the Dragons may very well be headed back on 64 with a win of their own.

For the Dragon fans…what was the last big win for South on the road vs a team that is strong year in and year out?  I have no idea, but that is their task this week.

This game is one of our Pick 5 games:

@Hungover_in_Andover always picking against us lol.

Cmon now! South beat Woodford, who I think is much better than last year's Yellowjackets, and then you guys look questionable this season! It's a fair pick lol.

We’re a lot healthier than we were the 1st 3 games.

I like Scott County in this one.

The key to the Dragons success on offense is two fold. The development of Arnold at QB and Julian Miles playing this season. Miles accounts for 1000 yards rushing and receiving along with 12 touchdowns. He is a heck of an athlete. Stopping Arnold and Miles is the key to slowing down South Oldham. This is going to be a fun game to watch!!

South Oldham is a top tier Rush Defense.  They are extremely physical.  You have to throw the ball to have any success against the Dragons.  Scott Co. passing game isn't scaring anyone, nor have they shown any ability to adapt when the run game isn't working.  Dragons 23- Scott County 8.

If you guys pick up the win here, then I guess the early injuries thing is valid. Is it the homecoming night also?

This game interest me because they are basically even in my power ratings so a toss up.

Same @Tigerpride94!  We (you) have enough games in the database to make it real.  With that said, both teams have had ups and downs this year so I don't know what to think other than I am sticking with the Cards in this one.
