The Jackets of woodford County (6-1)(1-1) make the short trip over to Georgetown to face the Cardinals of Scott County (5-3)(3-0). This is a must win for the Jackets to get a playoff home game an avoid a trip in the first round to northern Kentucky.

Big game here. Please correct me if I am wrong but looking at the district standings, this is how playoff seeding looks to play out after this game.  Scott Co. Victory = Scott Co. #1 seed, South

  • Thanks @Redheat!

Scott County has everything clicking now after a dreadfully slow start to the year. But it is now the last stretch of the regular season and the heart of district play and they seem healthy and playing together. Their run offense is one of the most formidable in the whole state as demonstrated specifically by their decisive 28-7 victory over South Oldham, one of the premier running defenses in the class.

Scott Co. Victory = Scott Co. #1 seed, South Oldham #2 Seed and Woodford #3 seed

Woodford Victory = 3 Way tie which will go to RPI. At this time, South Oldham #1 Seed, Woodford #2 seed and Scott Co. #3 seed.

Obviously RPI could/will change after the last few weeks. If Scott Co. wins it is easy. If Woodford wins, it gets interesting.

Either way, If Highlands beats Conner this week, it looks like we could have an intriguing matchup in round 1 with the potential of Woodford or Scott Co. at Highlands.

Scott County is getting itself right after a rough start. The results against common opponent South Oldham suggest a comfortable win for the Cards, but I think Woodford matches up better with Scott County than the Dragons. Wertzler appears greatly improved from last year and better equipped to get the ball to his playmakers.

I'll take the Cardinals at home, but I'm expecting a four quarter battle.

I will do my best to post updates.

14-14 still 1st quarter

Wofo didn't even realize the ball was past the line of scrimmage, let alone in the end zone on that TD! Yowzers.

21-21 little over 10 minutes to go in the 1st half.

Game of the night brewing in G-Town? Sounds like it so far.
