The Juggernauts of Lloyd Memorial (6-1) go on the road to face district foe Lexington Catholic (1-6). Both are 1 - 0 in the district after each winning this past week. For Lexington Catholic, that happens to be their only win of the year. Even though the records are lopsided, Lexington Catholic has played a brutal schedule that should have them prepared to go undefeated in the district. This game, however, represents the most likely chance at a loss in the district in the regular season. It was their closest game in the district last year, albeit still a 41-0 blowout.

Even with a Knights squad with such a dismal record, this should still be a clear cut victory for the home squad.

I agree. This is a very intriguing game from an analytics view. Win/loss record versus SOS. Lex Cath is 1-6 against a top ten SOS. Lloyd is 6-1 against a bottom ten SOS.

  • This is the way the TP94 Power Ratings see it and I do not think it will be that close: Lexington Catholic         65.95 Lloyd Memorial         55.05

Lex Cath's brutal schedule in the first 6 games has no doubt prepared them for their district play. Teams will look like they're in slow motion compared to what they've seen already this year. I expect Lex Cath to win this game going away.

This is the way the TP94 Power Ratings see it and I do not think it will be that close:

Lexington Catholic         65.95
Lloyd Memorial         55.05

We had two threads, here is the opening post in the other thread by: @DRKARK

The Juggs head south to Lexington Catholic. Despite the very rough start for Lexington Catholic, they play one of the toughest schedules, probably in the state. Will the Juggernauts be able to avenge the 41 to 0 loss from last year? The difference in this year‘s game is the Juggs have a healthy quarterback that has not been able to play the last two seasons due to injuries. This will be a very tough test for the Juggs. I do not see this game being a blowout. Let’s just hope our line play helps out our skilled positions. GO JUGGS!

I think Lexington Catholic still wins but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a better game this time.

Calpreps thinks it's basically even with Lloyd barely favored. This one has me intrigued as will my ratings be closer to the game result or Calpreps.

Feels like a number of results are possible: 1) LexCath could blow out Lloyd; 2) LexCath could win a close ballgame; 3) Lloyd could win a close ballgame. The only result that would be a surprise is Lloyd blowing out Catholic. I think I'll say Catholic by two touchdowns.

I’m similar. I was thinking 7-10 point advantage for Lexington Catholic.

Here are the TP94 Power Ratings from last year, the quoted above is this year:

Lexington Catholic    65.85
Lloyd Memorial    43.28

So basically by power rating LexCath is the same and Lloyd is a couple of TDs better than last year.  Lloyd doesn't feel almost two TDs better than last year to me, if anything they are about the same at best.  I like LexCath big in this game.

I think Lloyd defense has to cover number 11. I hope they put Sebastian on him all night. That would be a great matchup.
