I can pretty much agree 100% with everything you said. The RPI regional thing doesn't really bother me but I feel like you're spot on with the rest of it. Unfortunately, I do believe we will see RPI used to seed the sweet 16 in the not so distant future.

The 9th is really down this year it seems. Its Cov Cath then everyone else, Highlands may actually be #2, but I really don't believe there is a number two hah. I would have had St. Henry there prior to seeing them on video versus NCC and I wasn't impressed. It's an odd year for the 9th region.

By "on paper" I wasn't speaking of numbers coming into the game, I was speaking of numbers as far as how the game went. That's mentioned in what you quoted from me if you look at the entire message as opposed to the one sentence.

Really happy for my Tomcats to get this win. They showed a lot of fight and never gave up in a game that on paper they should have lost. Had you told me that Ashland would nearly be doubled up on rebounds, held well below their shooting average, missed key free throws etc. I would have told ya they lost, no matter who the opponent was. Getting a win out of that as well on the road at the Fieldhouse shows how this Ashland team simply finds ways to win games that they shouldn't. Imo, this is as big of a win as any that Ashland has had this season. Overcoming adversity shows maturity, good coaching as well as basketball IQ and these kids are still really young.

Ashland is in trouble unless they have a big 4th quarter. Typically they have a big third quarter but did not tonight.

Yeah, the Fieldhouse is a tough place to win. There have been some games at both teams gymnasiums where it just seemed Ashland was the better team but couldnt get over the hurdle that is Mason County.

Ashland has always struggled against Mason County for the past 10-15 years (rough guess) no matter how good each team is. It's always one of those games on the schedule that you really don't know what to expect put of Ashland. Years ago I understood why, in recent years I can't really figure it out.

I kind of expected this but it's still a huge win for Bourbon County. They have been playing as well as anyone in the state lately.

Is there a live video feed for this one? I've been a proponent for St. Henry at #2 in the regional rankings for a few weeks now, but after seeing them on video last night I'm not so sure. They may have had an off night, but if that was a normal night either they aren't the second best team in the 9th or the region as a whole is really down compared to most seasons.

I'm not talking about this season. However how it was implemented in football and now being adjusted after the first season got me thinking. In my opinion the answer is yes, we will likely see it used in basketball sometime in the next three years. There is a reason that they are computing the data this season even though it will not be used for seeding purposes. That reason is not to give us fans something to talk about, it's a trial run before they actually begin using it, imo. What are everyone else's thoughts? Would it be a good thing or a bad thing in your opinion?

I agree, but I can see the writing on the wall. Hopefully they experiment with it for several years and get it right the first time they actually decide to implement it. Giving coaches prior notice to implementing it (so the coaches can adjust schedules if needed) would be nice as well. Unlike how they just rushed the system out in football.

Like you and Guru I feel like it should be included as well. But it seems that the KHSAA doesn't want any more bookwork than they're already doing.
