  1. Jacquess Hobbs (Soph) is the main guard but he is out hurt. So they have Sr Guard Trevon Jackson running the show.
  2. Waggner is definitely not ready for next step. They have great size and some players as well, but they are not where they should be at this time..
  3. I watched Waggner tonight.. They are truly missing something. They have great size. They rebound well on both ends of the court. Their offensive schemes don't make sense. I think they are missing a true point guard and some Senior leadership.
  4. Per final scoreboard.. Big upset for the Chargers...
  5. Gaines is a heck of an Athlete. He has a nice reverse dunk on a player in the Jtown game. Not sure where he stands on offers but he can be a valuable asset at the next level.
  6. King of the Bluegrass @Fairdale High School should have some quality games..
  7. Not representive of the regions as a whole.. Definitely an isolated incendent...
  8. The 6th region is really down this year from a top to bottom perspective. I believe they would be in the 5 to 6 range.
  9. How many offers does Gaines have? Or will he receive any?
  10. Dangle Russell (currently at Ohio St) is going to a big name to remember. 2 good players from the Louisville area that are great but got better using the prep school route: Derek Anderson - Doss Rajon Rondo - Eastern
  11. In some cases the Activity bus would take kids home because of their proximity of school after games (kids living downtown compared to where they goto school) . The other kids actually are taken back to school for parents to pick up. Others go directly home with parents after games. All in all Shawnee High School is a great school in a bad neighborhood. Some people are really just ignorant..
  12. Good coaches know how to make a team quit the gimmick defense (using the defense as picks to free a guy). Part of a coaches job is to disrupt the other teams offense.
  13. On top of struggling this season on the basketball court, they have an indecent like this on the way home from a road game... JCPS, police investigating after incident involving J'town bus r - WDRB 41 Louisville News
  14. I think they are missing a true point guard that is holding them back. I would like the see Tyler Sharp play that role because of his size but I understand he is a shooter. Top to bottom they do have a lot to offer. But because the don't play PRP or Doss in a regional game, it makes it hard to place them.
  15. Game Summary Butler (2-2) – Wales 4, Ramsey 17, Johnson 12, Hamby 6, Richardson 4, Wise 18. Bullitt East (2-1) – Bacon 5, Farris 15, Rakes 19, Sharp 10, Wilson 5, Ezell 3. 3-point goals – Ramsey 1, Johnson 1, Wise 1, Rakes 4, Sharp 2, Wilson 1, Ezell 1. Butler 61, Bullitt East 57: The visiting Bears (2-2) held the Chargers (2-1) to 16-of-52 shooting as Austin Wise (18 points) and Chris Ramsey (17) led Butler. Bailey Rakes past Bullitt East with 19 points and Jared Farris added 15.
  16. I would expect East to win this game easily. Since East don't play either Doss or PRP (unless they meet in a mid season tournament), I would like to see if they could dominate Butler the whole game to show they are capable of winning the 6th region. If East struggle with Butler, I don't see how they will get pass PRP or Doss in the region tournament. Butler does have a nice athlete in William Johnson, he can play with the best of themm
  17. Yes, that is what I meant. It is good to build a program for years and be competitive when you lose that many kids.
  18. A big thing the kids have to learn this year, is Refs are going to make a lot of calls. Of course it gets worse when other region referees calls the region tournament. Either the kids learn to play good defense or their team will suffer. Foul issues will hurt PRP in the regionals if he doesn't learn to play smart. Doss, Bullitt East can probably afford their main player in foul trouble. If kids don't adjust, the region could be open to anyone. The coaching in Louisville has got to get better. I am a Jtown fan, and would take a coach such as Morrow anytime over the current Jtown coach. I know kids have to do their job, but there is no reason why you should have only 1 of 5 kids that truly knows basketball on the court .
  19. Maybe it is a bad hire for CAL. Whitefield Academy (from which he came from) has some decent players over they years. Last year his team was competitive in district play. DJ Scott (CAL) is going to need some help to make his Senior season successive. Losing to a South Oldham team that lost everything the past 2 years, SMH.
  20. Jackson City was punishing teams that year (1st & 2nd most points scored) 215 Jackson City vs. Woodbridge Academy, 2-10-92 (215-28) 180 Jackson City vs. Millersburg Military, 1-28-92 (180-72)
  21. With most teams living & dying by the 3 these days, it happens. An example would be Jeffersontown's Johnson shoots twice as many 3s than he does 2s but that is part of the offense (very frustrating) . Not sure if he shot more that 15 a game yet this year but I do see 20+ in the future.
  22. How close Moore was to Bullitt East was surprising. Did East not play to their potential, or does Moore has something nobody has noticed (was told one of Moore best players was out for the year)? Only time will tell, but with Creek being young and their first game, the upper hand goes to Moore by 5.
  23. This game should not be even close. Should be a bench clearing affair for Boyle County. Watch Spencer Co play summer games at Waggner over the summer, there is not much to brag about.
  24. Wow.. That does not look good for Southern. Evangle is the bottom feeder for the 7th region. I thought Southern had a couple of studs that would make them competitive.
  25. Jeff used to be a real quality team which is why Trinity scheduled them. Just think they are going through changes. Great for Stafford to build his resume for getting a decent college offer.
