Richard Gaines should be the center piece of the team. Guards Khalid Raheem & Hunter Stevenson played big minutes for the them last year as well. Just with the attrition of the other teams and the coaching they have, they should be good.

I believe Doss is going to have issues with new coach this year. Biggest is will the kids be coach-able to allow Coach Williams to do his job. 1. Trinity 2. Eastern 3. PRP 4. Bullitt East 5. Ballard 6. Waggner (might be higher. depends on younger talent) 7. Doss 8. Male (might be too low but they struggled last year with loads of talent) 9. Central, Manual 10. St X.

Clay Moody is the coach. Not going to be good but competitive. Played district foes Bullitt East close and buried Fern Creek over the summer, so chances of making 6 region tournament is 50/50. They have 1 returning starter Sr Brandon Johnson who will be asked to do a lot this year. The also have a decent sophomore that should provide some good minutes. But program has been in a major slide since Morrow left and it will not get better soon. Johnson played with the The Ville AAU program that won AAU National Tournament this past summer. He was also a Jr All-star tryout participant and played in the 5th/6th vs 7th/8th all-star game. Was also the leading scorer of JTown last year @ 19.8pts a game and 5th in the state in 3 pointers per game with 107 over the year.

Great student athlete. Kid has a great head on his shoulders and will do big things in the future.

TheVille will be playing in the final again City Rocks (a EYBL team).. A local team playing in the final is big. Plus 2 KY teams plain the final 8

The Ville plays in the final 4 of Nationals against team from Nashville.. Good win against Hoop Dream who will play for a top 8 finish.. Evan Hall may not play because of High Ankle sprain..

Yes, showcase games are in Freedom Hall today. Nationals continue all weekend..

In reality, pool games in both tournaments are not competitive. Bracket play is where the quality play happens. The Ville game today was loaded with coaches and spectators, so kids are still being looked at. This is the kids last tournament together as The Ville, and they are going to enjoy every moment of it. I believe the coaches knows where this team stands, now they are just playing nationals to represent the state. Arkansas Wings is also playing the Nationals, they are a top team in the country, so things will really work out well. Nobody is selling themselves short.

I agree.... The Ville did receive a lot of press in the Adidas Invitational (final 4 finish, lost to winner). And during the Peach State Summer Showcase in Augusta Georgia (they lost to eventual runner up). Not to mention a tournament in Columbus over the 4th of July they participated. The Nationals seems to be stretched over 5 days where as the showcase is over 3 days. with all the traveling recently, this would allow the kids to enjoy themselves.

I am just a parent of 1 of the players..... My initial guess would be this team started 9 years ago on AAU circuit with a 6 place national finish (4th grade), and coach wanted to end with another deep run in nationals. Once bracket play starts, their should be quality competition to push the kids. All the kids on the team are getting looked at for the next level, so nothing is really lost or gained by playing the Nationals.

Yes the teams are better in the showcase as a whole.... There are some great teams in the Nationals but just not a deep.

Correction now playing in nationals vs showcase (NCAA rules on number of games allowed)... Not sure why, but should make a run for national....

TheVille 2015 is playing both The Nationals, Gold Showcase. Very busy weekend for the boys but also a great opportunity to end their AAU season with some quality competition.

This list is on a national site.. I am not one for ranking kids. I think you do have 5 maybe 6 guys that really separate themselves apart from others. Every one else depends on what you value on the court. All kids on this list can play. I think this list pulls from Rick Bolus list a little.

I wasn't at the game.. But is is much more than getting one person the ball... The Elite team was shooting the lights out... Sometimes you just lose. Plus this team of players is much better than people want to believe...

The Ville is playing in the final 4 coffee the Platinum bracket tomorrow against Indiana Elite. Playing well with Johnson nursing a bad ankle...

Team Thad has a sophomore that is one of the top guards in the nation. Those guys are all fast and athletic. Should be a good game..
