I completely disagree... I believe the more disciplined team is the SW team that returns every starter but two who graduated. How can JH be considered the more disciplined team when the barely finished the season at 500 last year and lost their BEST player for the year due to being expelled from school? Those are not signs of a "Disciplined" team or a team primed to win anything.... I am just stating the obvious. I hope it is a great game, but SW will win this one easily due to a stifling defense and a loaded team full of experienced leaders.

Monroe will be able to play with BG of they just keep them in front of them. Watching Bowling Green play Manual tonight, I saw Manual get beat simply because they kept blitzing, and BG would throw a screen pass right over their heads. This years BG squad is not as much of a verticle threat. They want to beat with short passes a lot like the Indianapolis Colts. Instead of rushing with their RBs they pass to them out of the backfield and let them make plays. I predict a close game in the first half, but BG pulls out in the 2nd winning by 21...

IMO South Warren will take this game... I don't really understand the second game. I would have liked to see BG schedule a tougher opponent.

You are correct Wireman and Lexington Future defeated Attucks Wolfpack to win the 15U. Just a few of the coaches I noticed in attendance were: Ball State Miami (OH) WKU Lipscomb NKU EKU Bellarmine Transylvania Kentucky Wesleyan There were several more as well. Considering this is the first year of this event and that the original date was changed one month prior due to unforeseen conflicts, I would say this was a successful event. From what I have been told by KBA, there are many teams in the Midwest who have already shown interest in competing in The Summit next year.... All in all KBA did a great job, and it is always a positive when someone takes the time to provide more opportunities for our kids. Thanks KBA!!

Today at 4pm there will be 7on7 football games taking place atBowling Green High School. South Warren will be one of the schools in attendance; however I am not sure what other teams will be there. When BG plays SW, it should be competitive however the format is not usually setup like a true 7on7 game. They only use half the field, and they don't change possessions after 4 and out.... Is this the typical format in other parts of the State?

In every sport other than Football and Track, SW and BG are in the same District/Region, so they have to compete against one another. In track, BG a SW rarely run against each other due in part to BG not competing in as many track events as they used to and also due to just differences in meets each team chooses to compete in. A large part of Football schedules are predetermined do to the Districts they reside. Seeing as how BG is 5A and SW is 4A, they will never meet during District play unless South moves up or BG moves down (Everyone please refrain from making this a discussion about school size....). Obviously there are still openings on the schedule that SW could schedule BG, and I anticipate they will in the coming years. But SW has done an excellent job building a Strong Football program,ms learned a lot from the mishaps of their predecessors (Greenwood). 1)SW did not field a Varsity team their first year. 2)SW has slowly scheduled a more difficult schedule every year. When Greenwood was built, they did not do either of these things, and it did tremendous damage to their football program for years to come... One might say that they are STILL trying to overcome those years of being stigmatized as a Non-Football school. Yes they have had a year or two here and there of success, but I don't think anybody in Warren County would consider them a Football Powerhouse. They took beating after beating from BGHS, and it killed team morale as well as hurt them in terms of building interest in their program (Building interest makes more kids want to come out and play. It also motivates athletes to WANT to move into your school district). When SW was established, Coach Nelson (Former Greenwood Coach) was all too familiar with these issues. He made wise decisions about the Football program, and the moves that need to be made to ensure it's longevity as well as its relevance in the State.... IMO none of these decisions can be questioned (That includes not playing BG) due to the rapid success of the program. And I think that will be reaffirmed this year when they move to 4A. All that being said.... I would LOVE to see these two teams play! I think it would be a GREAT GAME! And this would be a perfect year for it to happen because BGs Seniors and SWs Seniors last played each in the State Semi Finals at Murray State in the 8th Grade where BG won.... So it would almost be like a rematch of that game. In Conclusion, I wish both programs nothing but the best this year, and hope to see them BOTH in the State Championship!

Why do they need to play the Purples? What's the point?

DJ White will be playing Football this season with Casey County. He is one of the best prospects in the State of KY at 6'4" 210lbs. My guess is he will play all over the field for them.

I just saw where the 17U and 16U schedules have been released for the Adidas Finals, and Quentin Goodin will be playing there with Indiana Elite. I believe he is the only KY kid that will be playing in this event at the 17U level... In the 16U age group, EG10 qualified and will have 1 or 2 KY kids as well. Are there any other teams or players I may be missing that qualified?

To say that this team doesn't have enough is completely DISRESPECTFUL to the kids that are playing for them this season. I don't believe them or their parents would appreciate that....

As stated in my comments, some of the selections made sense.... However, if this were a TRUE East vs West All Star game there is a lot to be wanting in regards to the rosters, but sense it is NOT, I now understand the reason for the selections.... Had you read through all previous comments you would know that is the reason we have began discussing the TITLE of the Event itself.... In regards to your belittling comment, I disagree completely. However, you are entitled to your own opinion however wrong it may be....

East and West of what? Louisville? They should rename this the Central Kentucky All Star game!

Why is this called an East/West All Star game then?? They need to come up with another name to this game because this is very deceptive...

Who was the selection committee for this game? These rosters are laughable! Some of the choices make sense but where are players like Matt Wilson, Colton Elkins, Larry Whelan, Eli Wright, Quentin Goodin, Ben Weyer, Perry Ayers, etc... Did they turn down the invitation or were they simply left out? Someone please enlighten me!

It shouldn't affect high schools too much. It's more about making changes at the elementary level. There are a few elementary schools that are divided into 2 or 3 high school feeder schools. The goal is to have each elementary school only feed into one high school. The primary schools this will affect are Natcher Elementary, Lost River, and Rockfield. My guess is Lost River will solely feed into Warren Central, Rockfield will feed into South Warren, and Natcher will only feed into Greenwood.
