Jordan Smart has worked as hard as anyone in Kentucky on his game and he was recruited hard by Vandy, he has the academics to go there and he turned down some other d-1 offers to play at the SEC level. I can see Vandy taking a red shirt year to work on his body and Jordan will end up playing a lot of ball for Vandy. He has the length that coaches love, and he has a big time 3 ball, and you can always find a place for a SHOOTER Congrats Lex Cath is going to have a very special year coming up:thumb:

Paul advised being "all things to all people so that you might win some" Churches all over the area spend money on block parties, busses, skiing trips etc in an effort to reach out to people. I'm not sure of the actual numbers, but my guess is the church views the school as a mission with most of the funding coming from the tuition the parents pay for their children to go there on top of their school taxes they pay for other children to go to public schools. Giving the public schools a huge advantage. And in spite of that, the Hill still finds ways to field a competitive team every few years:D

I think Russell beat the rest of the field, and if the "calls had gone their way", they would have beat Elliot County by twenty in the finals of the region Not that it matters, the thread is about this years team and I look for this years team to improve as the season goes along and be one of those teams you "hope" you don't draw when post season comes around if their new guards gain confidence as the season progresses

Phares will be a dominating big man, Hundley is as tough a kid as any in the state and makes big plays, and Portwood is one of the best pure shooters in the state, and they have an athletic Jordan Lee on the inside and plenty of other guys who can Play Don't feel too sorry for Scott County but I would recommend getting a ticket for the Catholic game early:thumb:

You don't know the Clark Stepp I know, there is not a jealous bone in the kid! Does he sometimes try to do too much? Yes, but so did Matt Walls and Stephon Pettigrew last year, and it was called "will to win" If you spent any time at all with Clark, you would realize how focused he is and his "will to win" He will realize that he has a lot of help on this years jbs team, and while he will still probally be the leading scorer, I look for jbs to have 4 kids average in double figures this year, and that is not selfish play

Not only is Novosel about a 4.0 student , I also consider him to have the best post moves in the state, and although he is a little undersized, he has consistently shown the ability to come out on top of much taller opponents. He is an overachiever and should parlay all those skills into a d-1 scholarship at a school that also demands academic excellence. Rumor has it Nathan can even beat his sister:D

Why would you put your best dribble/penetrator on the wing and one of your best shooters at the point? Clark will play the point, kick to the shooters, or dump it in to the big guy, they got the recipe for about a 28 win season, look for Clint to lead the state in 3 pointers made, Clark to lead the state in assists and Cox to average about 16 a game plus the big guys, they are going to be a hard team to handle, Class A tournament could be special this year if you add JBS and Paintsville and Elliot/Rose Hill to the field Would be worth the trip

You're right, they would be perfect, but I think they will take the d-1 offers instead.

There are a lot of 6 foot point guards in d-1, and none have a bigger heart

Anyone who saw Ethan's performance against DC ASSault swarming defense would have no doubt that Ethan will end up as a d-1 point guard, and that puts him in pretty exclusive company in Kentucky:thumb: Evan also had no problem competing against some of the country's best 17 year olds, Elliot County may end up being the most popular team in the state over the next two years

Ds east 17u ended their season tonight, losing to Team Jones 73-50. Doesnt sound that good until you compare Team Jones beat the Pump N Run elite team by 20, and also beat Indiana Elite earlier by 14. They are a team out of Oregon, sponsored by Fred Jones, an NBA player who just got traded to the Knicks. They were an excellent team,but the boys from Kentucky had a great run in Los Angeles, with a 3-1 record. My guess is all the kids will get their college paid for from this trip. Ds Eat 17u beat a team from california 58-52 to win our pool, Matt Thomas, Jordan Smart , Landon Slone and Nathan Novosel with some big buckets late, DS West 17u won a triple overtime game to win their pool, Taylor Stewart with 25, Ds 16u lost to finish 3rd n their pool , (16-17u all combined out here) Ds 17u East plays maybe the best team in the country tonight, with their backcourt going to UCLA and their big man going to duke they are the Pump and run elite, last year Jim Harrick coached them, don't no who is coaching them tonight, but we look forward to playing them check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybx_dhVBrBg On a good note, most of our kids has seen their stock rise out there with even sec conference talking about one of our kids along with several mid majors, should get some really nice shcolarships with this trip:thumb:

DS East 17u goes to 2-0 in pool play with a 61-49 win over a team from California, Landon Slone led us in scoring with 17 big ones, all the guys played well down the stretch as we were trailing 39-35 in second half before a big finish, playing for the pool championship sunday afternoon, if we win that one, we get a big game with Pump and Run Elite, probally a top 5 team in the country!:thumb:

Ds west team was beating a team from Santa Monica by 11 at the half as we left to go to our game, Taylor Stewart playing well for the West Team

Ohio Basketball Club 17's with big Yancy Gates held on to beat the DS 16's today 77-72, gritty game for the undersized 16's , BJ Mullins didn't play for the ohiio club, but they were still much bigger than the ds 16's. Clint Stepp went off for 29 against them , that kid is going to set some 3 point records before he is through, probally the best pure shooter in the state right now as a sophomore

They were pretty quick, what was final Score? I thought it was a great win for us

We played the Bay Area Hoosiers in Vega, got their own $200,000 bus so you know they are a pretty established program You will have your hands full Good Luck

Ds East team won against the Force, a nike team out of Colorado who won their pool in vegas 72-65, DS West team had about a 20 point win, and the Ds 16u team won by about 40. Should be some good games tomorrow. Looks like Team Texas pulled out of the event rather than face the DS 17u team Cam Hundley was looking forward to meeting Mr Warren

Congratulations, that is indeed an accomplishment The Atlantic Celtics with mvp Chris Singleton (this is a kid Gillespie would love to get, and probally a future lotter pick) won the tournament as I expected. Although the Houston Select team had them beat until the last 36 seconds of the game and got beat by missing a layupand some free throws. Houston Select was the team that ousted the DS 17u east team 82-75 . DS East now goes on to Los Angeles with a big game Sunday against Team Texax with Willie Warren, a top 5 player in the country. Should be a big College turnout at that game, look for a couple of the DS boys to "get on the map":thumb:
