Talent or coaching? Or both?
I think Yeagle is a great coach. He also had a talent pool 20 ft. deep! Just because he had GREAT success at Beechwood does not mean he will at Lloyd but......it does show that he knows how to get to that point.

Mike Yeagle is the new coach at Lloyd!
No Im not. I like Coach Lucas. I had 2 boys play for him over the last six years and I wouldnt dis Roy. Im just saying that when little Johnny has to decide where he will play high school football who's name carries a bigger persona?

Mike Yeagle is the new coach at Lloyd!
Yes they did. I know they have played the last 6 years.

Mike Yeagle is the new coach at Lloyd!
Are thinking about last year? They only lost 7 seniors! They were very young last year and the underclassmen got a crash course in football at the varsity level. Coach French (if Yeagle lets him stay) keep churning out good freshman teams so there is talent to had. As for players that didnt play there were a few good players that either didnt comeback after JV or quit during the season for personal reasons that need not be aired in this forum. Coach Yeagle will find fertel ground in Erlanger to grow a competitive team. Especially if makes his face known around the Lions practice field. His name alone will budge a few off of the fence. Huffy's and Schwinn's are both good bikes but which would you rather ride?

Yeagle to Lloyd?
I learned the hard way when I was with the Erlanger Lions Football org. Erlanger runs all the way down to 3L in cluding Doe Run lake. Lloyds turf ends at the bottom of Garvey ave.

Yeagle to Lloyd?
I dont think I would put Coach Lucas down as "hasnt been a good coach" He took a 1-9 team and put them in the playoffs 6 straight years. 5 of those years he won or tied the district. 2003 they played the state semi down to the wire. Hardly the resume of "hasnt been a good coach" Dont get me wrong Lucas isnt ready to coach D1 but he is hardly a "bad" coach. As for your examples..... Dixon-not sure what the deal was Burke-Even though his dad was a Lloyd guy he was Cov Cath bound anyway. Metzgers-Nick & Daniel were going to Dixie from birth I think Sheffield-Who cares?

Yeagle to Lloyd?
Lloyd has always had good talent. Injuries and attitude have been the down fall. I know of quite a few players that have told me that they would come out for football if the "right" coach was named. I certainly think Mr. Yeagle would be the "right" coach. I just hope the powers that be name someone soon! The players need to know who will be steering the ship and get all of his policies into effect.

Please answer these Lloyd Questions?
OK, another week has passed by. Anybody heard anything? The street level talk has dried up like last weekends rain. I'd think the admin would like to put this to bed and move foward ASAP.

Make-up your High School's greatest football team ever?
Id have to go old school there. I'd take Mika Lockard and Kevin Ashley over Myrion and Nick. Sorry Myrion, still love ya bro but in '76 Ashley was a BAD MAN and still to this day, Mika is one of the most intense people I know.

"Lloyd fan" on a Cincy radio station today bashing Belfry...
Who are you kidding. The only reason you left was because all the chicken and dumplings were gone! It was nasty out. Its the first time I remember having to put salt down on the stands. Everyone that I met from Belfry that night was pleasent, friendly and appreciative of our hospitality. In fact after the game quite q few of the players came to the hospitality room to get some warm food and hot drinks in their bellys before a long bus ride home. Somewhere in my photos I have a great picture of a table with about 5 players from each team eating, talking and laughing. It was a proud moment for me to see a group of young men displaying such sportsmanship.

Did Mike Yeagle apply for the Conner job or not?
Thats what I heard on the street. Only rumor mind you. Its a shame, he would look good in navy blue and vegas gold.

Vandalistic? Can I use that word or is it a trademark of Tommy James and the Vandels?

Watch for Lloyd's Bryan Smith. He is a hard nosed player on both sides of the football.:thumb:

Lloyd High School Football Coaching Change?
I agree. I think it would totally unfair to just name someone. I do think that cantidates form inside should get the same consideration as anyone else. Like Lucas said in the interview....with the redistricting and class system change this is a good time for a change. I just hope a school of Lloyd's size will draw quality talent. Espically with other schools in the area looking as well.

Lloyd High School Football Coaching Change?
I heard rumor months ago that BIG changes were coming with Lloyds coaching staff. When I heard Monday afternoon that he told the team he was stepping down I was shocked and a bit in disbelief! I guess this mornings Enquire seals it. Coach Lucas has had a good run at Lloyd. I wish him luck where ever or what ever he decides to do. I hope that the powers that be move swiftly to name a new coach. Whom ever gets the job will need to lay out the game plan and keep the program on track. I know that there are a few capable faces within the program that could fill the bill.:sssh:

Larue County (10-2) at Mercer County (12-0)
Any compairson of this years Mercer team and last years is moot. They are twice the team (no merger pun intended) than they were last year. I don't see the Titans skipping a beat between now and Papa Johns.

Mercer vs Lloyd part deux......
Your right! It wasn't like this an hour ago.

Mercer vs Lloyd part deux......
Here is a good question. As a coaching staff how do you get your team up for a game like this? Two weeks ago you got walloped by 50pts, You play the same team again this Friday, what do you say to your team?

Playing 2 Weeks in a Row
Lloyd goes to 4th and plays Mercer. Spencer and Newport play. Spencer cannot do worse than 3rd. Mercer has won the district unless Spencer can upset.
-
Mercer 64 Lloyd 14
There is no doubt that Mercer is a program on the rise. When Mercer came into the district they were a door mat. The last 3 years it is easy to see the Titans / Scotties grow into a legitimate power. The merger just sped the whole thing up by about 2 years. I look foward to seeing Mercer compete in 5A with teams of a similiar talent pool.
