  1. Matches thoughts of many BGPers! Bulldogs anticipating visit from Rock Nation next Friday.
  2. Must have been Throwback Thursday! Typical score from the 1960s!!!
  3. This matches up with BGPers' opinions prior to kickoff.
  4. This result is a real shocker to me. Yellowjackets must be for real.
  5. I am happy Scott County will have to face Saint Xavier, Male, or PRP in state playoffs. Only one of these teams can make it to Kroger Field!
  6. High school for many reasons: cost factor; normal Friday night game does not interfere with much (schedule those weddings the other 36 weeks of the year or find a nice "open date"); I do not need alcohol during the game; weekly renewal of friendships and less hassle with the crowds; parking is always easier for high school games; did I mention cost as a factor.
  7. I am not sure how much research the "AP" voters do before voting each week.
  8. What is odd, usually if you leave a private school for a public school, you declare financial hardship and are eligible immediately. Jared Casey of Ballard is the most recent Jefferson County player to do this I am aware of. He saw varsity action as a sophomore at Trinity and was ruled eligible immediately at Ballard. Trinity released him which is the school's normal way of handling someone who transfers as long as it is not a discipline issue, a grade issue, equipment turn in issue (Harper brothers, left Trinity mid season-enrolled at Waggener-declared eligible in the same season).
  9. I had to take a timeout. It lasted more than 30 minutes, so I could not edit my post. Here are some more words of wisdom. :popcorn:More specifically, we will learn how Trinity handles a well-disciplined team with size and some skill people. We cannot count on Moeller giving us 111 penalty yards as did Warren Central(IN). Moeller is not as highly touted as in recent years, but they are still Moeller. Moeller has two more games with 6A Kentucky teams in the coming weeks. We'll be able to play the comparison score game until the final four in the playoffs! Can Nick Bohn continue his hot hand at QB? I am told his confidence grew immensely when was inserted as the starting QB in last year's playoff game with Ohio County. The Trinity defense is playing well despite giving up 7 touchdowns last Friday. We'll learn if having Alex Wilson back in the defensive backfield makes a difference in coverage and open field tackling. The defense stood up and made the play of the game stopping Warren Central from 1.5 yards out from a go ahead two point conversion. As for Saint Xavier, can they steam roll the Purples, keeping Bowling Green's offense off the field. Saint Xavier usually has a strong kicking game. We'll see how that holds up in the muck Saturday. If the Tigers match the Pleasure Ridge Park effort shown versus Bowling Green, a similar outcome should be achieved. The 6A district three schedule will be very interesting and competitive the rest of the year.

  11. We will learn Trinity runs the table in Kentucky regardless of the outcome of Moeller. Defeating Moeller willl keep the Shamrocks in National conversation the balance of 2017. St. Xavier will learn if they have the ability to keep up with Bowling Green's skill. Even with a loss to the Purples, the Tigers will be favored to meet Trinity in December at Kroger Field.
  12. Currently, three linemen who would be seeing lots of varsity action, including two offensive starters, are out with injuries. Therefore, some junior linemen are playing varsity instead of JV. Trinity may also bring up some of the talented freshmen for a few games. This has occurred in the past.
  13. Connect any dots???? Are you kidding me? My Saint Xavier source was misinformed regarding identifying Taylor or Coleman. I am much happier it is Coleman because Taylor has much more talent. I never mentioned either player was a transfer nor imply they were illegally recruited. Heaven knows rules are never violated at 1609 Poplar Level Road. Best of luck at Bowling Green.
  14. Louisville is forecast to receive between 1 and 2 inches of rain and no thunderstorms. Northern Kentucky is expecting the same amount of rain with some thunderstorm activity.
  15. Unfortunately Freshman and Junior Varsity games are cancelled! Soccer has dibs n the field.
  16. Typical knee-jerk reaction by JCPS. Mention snow and they cancel school. Current forecast per The Weather Channel 1-2 inches of rain during afternoon and .5 expected in the evening. No thunder, therefore no lightning. Cincinnati has similar rin forecast with some thunder for tei dive down I-71.
  17. Moeller and Trinity game my be cancelled. The schools are in discussion. Only 1 to 2 1/2 inches f rin forecast for Louisville. Cincinnati gets some thunder with their 1-2 inches of rain.
  18. Maybe WKU is available? It will be September 1 and I believe the NCAA ban on colleges hosting high school games ends in August. Trinity's annual game with Saint Xavier is September 29 at U of L's home field.
  19. Trinity does not allow umbrellas during varsity football games. Manual Stadium does allow them. Male's Stadium as well as I recall. Does your stadium allow them?:idunno:
  20. Right you are! I am breaking out the good poncho. Umbrellas are not permitted in Marshall Stadium during a varsity football contest.
  21. He played basketball for Nativity Academy and no one said he was a transfer. It was interesting his father watched the game from the Trinity stands with his funky red bowtie. Still no idea why his name was not included on the roster. Trivia: Who started Nativity Academy basketball program- Coach Klein's father. The Xaverian Brothers are also listed as big donors to the Nativity Academy- a school for inner city youth- I believe 5th through 8th grades only at this time. I believe Trinity's DE Arak McDuffie is also an alumnus. I am happy to read it is Coleman and not Taylor.
  22. History of Moeller -Trinity series: 1997 Moeller 34-6 Moeller bought out the return game in 1998 2011 Trinity 49-14 2012 Moeller 45-42 2013 Moeller 42-14 2014 Moeller 17-14
  23. At least the forecast does not call for thunderstorms in the Louisville area now. No lightning, no delays! Once the kickoff is in the air, the game counts and no refunds are due! It will be up to the schools to agree to reschedule or the game stands.:thumb: I recall quite fondly the 10-0 Trinity victory over Saint Xavier in 2006 under stormy circumstances.
