Luke is perhaps going to be the best Moeves to play at NewCath. Smooth floor game and can really shoot. He's probably still growing as well. The 5th starter could be Luke, Brian Anderson or Seth Freppon at the start of the season. Both will see minutes.

Seth Freppon of NewCath deserves to be on this list as well. He can play anywhere on the field, great speed and very unselfish play. Josh Keuper of Brossart was a great player however he graduated this year.

I don't think anyone is complaining about kids choosing Highlands. To me, there's a school out there that's a right for for everyone. Be it independent, Catholic, big, small etc. However don't open your doors to everyone then complain you can't compete with the small schools because you're enrollment is too large. That's all some are saying. I don't think this thread was headed in the direction of education or anything of that nature until you guys took it there. It's ALL about numbers.

I never said 50% of your team went to Highlands for softball. Reread my statement. I was simply reiterating your statement where you said that 5/10 of your players were not from Ft. Thomas. That's all I was stating. That, and the fact that I don't really care where they come from. Just don't complain when you have too many students to have a "second chance" bc you are getting students from other districts.

Funny thing, I was talking to some people just yesterday who "get it". They get the All "A". So just bc people see your side of the controversial discussion doesn't mean they "get it" and others don't. As far as where your students come from, I really don't care. I was just clarifying what 719 was stating and you were admitting to when you indicated that 50% of your team was out of district. I'm not all hell bent over on what teams from other schools do and don't do. I'm not a jealous person. 800-900 students is not a big school, no, but it sure is a lot more students than 200-400.

I think 719 is making a point that you are willing to accept out of district players and even ones that come across the river, yet complain you can't compete in the small school tournament. You can't have it both ways. If you want to have players and students come from all over, attend Highlands, and compete in your program, giving you a broader range of athletes from which to choose, then your school is obviously too big in enrollment to play in the All "A". You can't have it both ways. Correct me if I'm wrong, 719. That's the way I'm seeing it. And I couldn't agree more.

I know LB and don't have a problem with him personally. He does have a passion and it's much appreciated. Again, in today's society when we work hard to teach kids how to handle social media, yet those who are supposed to be setting examples go and rip our own children, possibly my child, I have issues with that. There is a time and a place for everything. Denny B is working tirelessly to to run his program. A more constructive approach is all I'm asking for.

And btw Allen R I agree with you. It is early and Denny B is a great coach. He'll figure it out. He's got a good young pitcher and a great one behind the plate. Add a few solid fielders and he'll be right were he needs to be at the end of the season. Just takes some positive reinforcement.

It's one thing to do it in a locker room, another on a public forum. Social media can be a curse and adults are supposed to be setting examples. That's my beef.

Here's the thing...if you don't know football, don't comment. If you don't know soccer, don't comment. If you don't know hockey, don't comment. RCC, you don't know the All "A" so quit commenting. You probably have never been there. All you're concerned about is eliminating experiences for other kids bc your kids can't take part in those experiences. Why do you care what other kids do? It's harmless. If 120 schools want to compete in a regional and state tournament and possibly win and get state rings, why are you so jealous? You had the opportunity to send your children there when you chose to go out of district in your school of choice, but you didn't. You chose Highlands. Fine. No different than my children could have gone to Highlands, but I chose to pay tuition and send them elsewhere. Doesn't make me jealous of Highlands and try to make light of their opportunities.

Then why should NewCath and Brossart (and Holy Cross a few years ago, and St Henry prior to that) have to choose between the All A and post season? Your argument holds no water. You're speaking out of both sides of your mouth.

Here's one more question for you. Why did you allow your softball team to play in the regional tournament last year when you lost to NewCath in the district finals 2-1? If you're the coach and you are doing the right thing, what a great opportunity to teach them there are NO 2nd CHANCES IN LIFE. I suppose you're not an organ donor either, are you?
