  1. What a game, glad I made it out to this one!! I did not expect this to be a close one, let alone an upset. GC’s supporting cast all showed up tonight, which put them in a position to beat OC. Griffin and Dossett were awesome for GC, both had impressive performances. I thought Dossett was done for the night after taking a hit to the head/face before half, but he didn’t skip a beat when he returned. And WOW, the Griffin kid hit two clutch shots at the end. Moore was dominant for OC as expected, but his supporting cast did not show up tonight. If I had to guess he had 35-40 of OC’s 57 points. Have to applaud GC for the game plan, I wonder if other teams might try a similar strategy against OC in the regional tournament. Congrats to GC and good luck to both teams in the regional tournament!
  2. Considering I was at both of these games, I specifically remember Hester pushing two W-Town players in the back during their scuffle mid-season. Also, after they beat W-Town in the All ¨ A ¨, he ran through the handshake line, which was very dirty.
  3. Believe the length on Dynes will really bother this Grant County team who really struggles shooting the ball. SK by 6+
  4. Besides Moore, Ward has really stepped up this year and filled some shoes. Surprised at how much of a non-factor Shelton has been this year. Should be an exciting game!
  5. Absolutely. Kentucky kids have so many more opportunities to get in front of D1 and collegiate level coaches than ever before. If you are able to get into the right programs you have an infinitely better chance at receiving a scholarship offer than other talented players, simply because you are playing in front of college coaches every single game in some cases. I also know coaches who begin recruiting kids solely because they play for a certain program that they know has produced great players in the past. Just playing for the right team doesn’t necessarily close the deal on receiving a scholarship but it gets you in the door, which is the toughest part. I’m not a huge proponent of social media, however I have seen it give kids chances to be recruited that they would not normally have. Again, it is getting them exposure that kids weren’t able to get in the past. I think Kentucky has always had kids who could compete at the highest level, but maybe did not get the exposure to get there.
  6. There was a few questionable calls in last nights game that I thought should have gone the other way. But, I hate the excuses every losing team makes after they lose. Walton loses, all you have is their fans complaining about refs. Same thing would have happened to Grant fans if they would have lost too. The officiating did not decide the outcome in this game. You get 32 minutes to decide that yourself.
  7. Great game to watch! Dixon rebounds great. I know Khroman struggled, but Hester did very little to get his best shooter shots. Felt like Hammonds had 15 points, and you see after he has 27 & 11 LOL. It appeared to me that Hammond's father was acting a fool, and Hester said something to him. This is irrelevant though. A coach should never have words with a player, which is what Walton's Asst coach did. There is no room for that. I believe the fan behavior would have been the same either way, no matter which team won.
  8. Joe Sargent started for GC and was relieved by Nolan Wilson. CC started Trey Boles and was relieved by Zach Hicks.
