Respectfully, North is the clear favorite. They haven’t had a close region fam, embarrassed South, and they didn’t get a single clean look all night. Beat Seneca last night without arguably their (Norths) best player.. it’ll take a huge letdown to beat them.

The ball went in the rim. North will still be clear favorites.

Madison Young sets the South Oldham scoring record and running mate Brickey combined for 44 points. South looks to run away with the district for the 8th straight year. The Dragons will be a tough out in the region tourney. 17-2 South at the end of the 1st quarter. North fought and tied it at 19 and went on a few runs to make it interesting in the 2nd half. Too much youth for the Mustangs- a year away but much improved. Young is just too much and does everything for them.

Unless South is unconscious from deep (they can be).. North wins by double digits. I could see them getting 100 tonight on South at that pace. Too many weapons/ways to beat you.

My top-10- 1) Simon Kenton- HUGE drop off after them- wouldn’t be shocked they running clock their way to the Sweet 16 2) South Oldham- played an extremely difficult schedule, well tested, well coached, 2 of the better players in the region. 3) Woodford- Gordon is tough and good enough to win the district 4) Spencer County- Well coached and finds a way to be in/compete every single game. Defensively they are tough! You score against them, keep the basketball. 5) Anderson County- wouldn’t be shocked they make me eat this- but I think Spencer and Woodford are just better (this year) 6) Walton-Verona- rough patch for them but they’ll figure it out- too many talented players not too. 7) Grant County- Led by their stud PG, she is enough to keep them in most games. Will be a tough out. 8- Owen County- well coached and great win over Walton- don’t think Walton will ever shoot that bad again though. Still favorites in the 31st until someone beats them. 9) Gallatin County- The team that could beat Owen County- well coached and can shoot it. If they’re on, they can absolutely beat Owen County. 10) North Oldham- I’ll give them some flowers and put them at 10. Certainly the biggest surprised/most improved year over year. best of the rest.. 11) Trimble- wins over Oldham last week, North early in the season, and Gallatin. 12) Emenince- 2 good players, good record but don’t play many good teams outside their district. 13) Oldham County- disappointing loss to North- zero region wins 14) Henry County- Better than last year and improving. Always find a way to make games closer than maybe the talent says it should be. 15) Carroll County- Lost everything from last year. 16) Shelby County- lost a lot from last year and trying to figure it out with a lot of Middles Schoolers. Give them some time.

Is Sears eligible? Haven’t been able to find much on him.

Well… Watched the Hudl stream of this last night before the boys game- North is just as young as them and looks to have improved drastically from last year. looking at their schedule, Oldham may not even win a region game this year. Huge swing and a miss if that’s the case for their young group. I had heard the same- how this young group was going to be amazing. They’re still young and lots of time for growth, but North was up 40-22 at one point and in complete control the entire night. Not a great look for Oldham.

Congrats to Owen on a nice little run after losing a lot from last year. Beating Walton and winning a game in the All-A with this group is a tremendous accomplishment- one of the best coached teams in the region!

Congrats to Jayden- love watching her play and continue to grow. She is going to be an absolute problem and some college is going to get a great one. Hope she stays local!!

Is anyone in the 8th able to compete with North? They appear to just be on another level when they're clicking.

North defeats Oldham in a 29th district clash- North won 3 games last year... now 13-8 with a bunch of close losses and won 8 of their 10. Good for that group.

Rankings mean nothing. Only reason for the rank is because they have been good the past 5 years. They have had a pretty weak schedule up until GRC. I have seen them play. Not anywhere near the same talent they've had in recent years.

UK and Pope will be fine. Millions of Dollars in Diobaute/Lowe/Quaintance have been sitting on the bench for a good portion of the season. Building your offense around a speedy PG who can create for others all offseason, then he gets hurt a week before the first game hurts a lot. Those 3 will cure a lot of problems. Specifically Quaintance/Lowe, they are gamechangers.

Wow, wonder why. Without him they go from pretty good, to average.

Worst Gallatin team I have seen in awhile. Worst Walton team I have seen in probably 8 years.

No, they’ll be fine. They did a great job scheduling and challenging their group this year. One of the most difficult schedules in the region by far. The record might not reflect the team’s progress and where they’ll be in February. They need to find a 3rd/4th consistent option- if they do that, they have a chance to be there- and they’ve got 29 more chances to figure it out before it matters. My concern for them is North Oldham and Oldham County have closed the gap- if one of them get hot on the right night- who knows.
