George Rogers Clark 83 Woodford County 51

Featured Replies

Impressive win by Clark County over a good Woodford County team.  GRC beat Woodford in every aspect of the game:  rebounding, shooting and defense. Late in the 4th quarter, GRC was up by 42.

Woodford seems to be pretty down this year from what I can tell.

Woodford is ranked in the top 25.

Rankings mean nothing. Only reason for the rank is because they have been good the past 5 years.

They have had a pretty weak schedule up until GRC. I have seen them play. Not anywhere near the same talent they've had in recent years.

If GRC was able to do this to Woodford County it really reinforces how good Madison Central is.  They completely eviscerated GRC last week.

Total homer job down there at central. Felhaus shot 27 FT’s by himself. GRC shot 17 as a team. Bartleson, the 6’7” GRC Center, couldn’t get near Feldhaus. Bartleson fouled out in 7 or 8 minutes. The score was 61-52 with 2 minutes left in the third. If the game was played 10 more times GRC would win 5 of them.

I agree Mahogany 21, total homer job!!

I always have a hard time believing that foul counts are indicative of anything other than how many times one team fouled. Not having seen the game I can't comment directly, but GRC refs are from the BBA, they cover the 10th and 11th region. They're as likely to be from Alexandria or Carlisle as they are Winchester or Mt. Sterling.

24 AFT and 16 MFT per KHSAA stats and tracking fouls without context is not helpful.

For all of the size GRC has, they have trouble containing another team's primary big man. DeAaron Watkins, another 6'-8" player from Daviess County, scored 18 with 23 rebounds a couple of weeks ago AT Winchester with their area's refs.

It would help too if the Cardinals could make the most of their trips to the charity stripe - 49/80 for 61% this season is not optimal.
