Pics are awesome thanks!! Of course the first pic is the first play at the plate, hard to tell from the pic alone but knowing how HC's catcher was standing she sure seems out to me. Looks like unless the catcher is standing behind the plate she is out. I know the ump was saying safe bc she got under the tag and the tag is high, that does not appear to be the case. Weather safe or out I can't blame the ump to much bc they were both real close in real time. But the were HUGE plays in the game.

Yeah very true, I can't remember was that the first batter of the inning to hit that. I just remember several of us turning as saying how in the hell did we get out of that, then she thows home.

Even though HC benefited from this I still say that they should have been vistors, may have had a big effect in the NCC game.

I believe you 100% but I asked her the same question and she said yes, Damn girls! and I thought she did, no fault of the umps there but he didn't have a good view bc the way the slide went. Some people were saying the first girls didn't get to home, I had bad view of that but who knows, just double sucks bc she throws it to first and Conner is scoreless through 4.

If Simms pitchs like that the rest of the week they have a chance to win the whole thing.

I would advice the teams that play tomorrow to practice on concrete. Ball is bouncing like crazy today, not that its an excuse for some of the errors but it wasn't easy out there either.

Connor did play error free and not to take away from them but Simms was real good so HC did not put a lot of pressure on them.

Conner gets a fairly easy win. Conner out hit HC 10-9 (according to the score board) neither team had many hard hit balls. Simms was on big time today and not really sure how HC managed to get to 9 hits, a lot of them were in the last 2 innings. Holy Cross couldn't field a ball to save there live. HC had I believe 7 errors and of course Moran had several (I hope JMU never plays at NKU bc for what ever reason she stuggles on defense there) I would say to make it worse several of Connors hits should have been caught also. Conner's first two runs were scored on bang bang plays at home. The first one was on a routine ball hit to 3rd with two outs in the 4th, HC's 3rd baseman went home instead of first the ball clearly beats her home but the umps says she gets under the tag. The second one was about the same way but the ump says the catcher missed the tag, I had a real good view of that one and I disagree, but I am guessing Connors fans were going to say they were safe both times and I know HC's fans were saying both were outs. Conner probably still finds a way to win the game but if HC gets the calls it could have changed the game, most of HC's errors came after the second call. Tough calls for the umps either way and maybe even tougher for HC bc usually if it is a bang bang play and the ball beats them there they are called out more times than not. I would say if the ump got both calls right he may be one of the best of all times bc they were both really close. Not that I am happy with those calls bc HC didn't do near enough to win just trying to lay out the scene. Very impressed by Simms even though HC some how got 9 hits I think that might have been the best performence I have seen so far this season. Some of those hits may have been bc Conner had such a big lead late. Also not sure how Conner's centerfielder (Himes I believe) ended up hitting wise (guessing like 2 for 4 or 3 for 5) but I was also really impressed with her, she appears to be a real tough out. I am not sure if she had an off day the first time we played but I did not notice her like I did today. Good luck to all, hopefully tomorrow brings out some better softball bc tonight at least NCC, HC and Dixie didn't play it real well.

NCC scored 2 in the top of the 8th and Dixie got the walkoff win in the bottom of the inning by scoring 3. I believe it was Mary Beth Odom with the game winner with bases loaded and two out in a tie game. Conner 9-3 over Holy Cross, The theme of the day at NKU was errors probably upwards of 15 errors in both games.

Walton has been on fire with some of their hires of late or at least it seems so to me. Who will replace Mr Anderson, how's the pipe line looking for the future of softball for WV.

I knew this was coming!! no if they counted her errors she would be over .900, probably has reached base safely bc of errors on at least half of her outs. I mean this a compliment to BGH but if she played for him she would be for sure in the running for Miss Softball, now I don't even think she would be eligible.

Is GC coach a parent or a non parent? As the hall of famer (Marty B) would say "how we looking, not good"

I agree some but just like anything we have great parent coaches in or around the 9th and some not so great, (see HC who starts his grand kid when she wouldn't start if any other non family member in the world was her coach) There are non parent coaches that can be wonderful and some that are not, just the way things go.

I love this idea, I don't think everyone needs to fall in order and vote the same way. But you can't have a for sure top 5 player on the second team several schools had to vote her way down or not at all. If you make the votes public I think a lot more good comes out of it than bad. I would like to see the board of the coaches assocation take action on this matter and if a coach did not vote for Haylee Smith at all to have them suspended or removed from future voting.

There are no good resturants in Gallantin so you do not want them on your schedule.

The way the have played the last week or two I would say 0% But they are a lot better than that so if they can turn it then they Have a real good chance. NDA has played well of late if both teams play there best it should be a great game.

Maybe but you know some people act if you talk about a kid.. In softball its impossible to compare pitchers and position players. Most good pitchers are also very good hitters thus why most the awards go to pitchers and maybe rightful so. I would like to see a player of the year and a pitcher of the year. Some times in our area at least, the 5th or 6th best pitchers are making all region teams over some of the best position players.

True...GC has beating Carrol like 10 times this season (i know not 10) how much confidence can you have with that... with the talent they have there is almost no excuse to not be playing better comp. If money or time is an issue for them they could easily play the Boone county schools, they are probably closer to them than most the schools in there district or region.
