So Ryle HS does not provide equipment for the softball team? I kinda find that hard to believe, if the former coaches did pay out of their own pocket for the equipment then I think they should take it with them.

Nice!! Are there many coaches there? I remember when we were in Moline IL playing the Corona Angels at 2am at 14U nationals and a ton of top level coaches were watching the game. Of course they weren't there to watch as much as the Angels but it was still really cool.

OC Batbusters are one of the best teams in the country year in and year out. Congrats to the Sluggers on a real nice win.

She did good, always could do better!! but I think she was second in hitting for the week. I am done dealing to much with you HS people!!! (for those that don't know that is a joke)

Beverly Bandits finished 7th out of 64 in Clearwater this week. We got put in the loser's bracket early by the a stacked Atl Vipers team who ended up winning the tourney. We ended up getting put out by TN Fury 95 3-2 in our 4th game of the day at about 1:30 am after being at the park for close to 16 hours. Not to make excuses but I think we beat the Fury 8 or 9 times out of 10 but stuff happens. Our only catcher was not feeling well and we just had come off an 11th inning game and she wasn't able to go. The Fury scored twice in the first with no hits and both runs coming on passed balls. Scored their 3rd on a missed pop up by our left fielder. Like I said stuff happens!! I really thought we had the second or third best team there behind the Vipers but it does not always work that way!! The Fury org is placing a ton of kids at Kentucky, they had at least two on that 95 team but I don't think either played against us. On a side note our Bandits 16U team won Premier Nationals in Huntington Beach CA this week. I know they don't have any KY kids but they do have some Ohio and IN. For those that don't know Premier Nationals is the grand daddy of them all right now. For our org to pull of this off is just unbelivable. Very few times have teams from outside of CA won the best tourney in the country. Shows what a lot of people have been saying for years, other girls outside of CA can play this game. Good luck to the 18U Sluggers this week in Huntington Beach!!

Is coaching or being an AD that hard? Or am I just so used to travel ball where you are jumping over hoops and doing all kinds of crazy things to try and promote a player.

I agree with that and mentioned that in my post but sure does suck for GC kids bc it seems like no one wants them, NKY, Louisville, Central Kentucky no one will claim them! They have several players that can play the game.

She quit travel ball after her 9th grade year and then played part time her soph year and none her junior year. She wanted to focus on soccer, in the end she didn't find a match for soccer. Grace does really well in school 30 plus on her ACT. She will be attending Miami of Ohio in the fall, there has been talk about walking on for softball but I think she would rather just focus on school at this point.

I am bias of course but Herrman was probably the best defensive catcher in the area this year...she hit real well also considering she took off almost two years and the lack of coaching at Holy Cross. If grace would have stuck with softball there's no doubt in my mind she would have received a D 1 scholarship. There are 6 pitchers on the first team 3 catchers and two infielders...can't put everyone of the first team but I would have her on there ahead of several.

The Sluggers have been and probably always will be the class of travel softball in the state. The Fury is an awesome org, we have been to many of their tourneys and worked out at their facility before I love what they are doing down there but at this time they are not known any more nationally than the Sluggers. Congrats to all those young lady's. By the looks of it if Ballard doesn't win state next year something has to be wrong to have several girls of that talent on one team is crazy. Now let's find a way to keep all these kids at home.

Bc there are some really bad coaches in the area and even worse people who didn't vote for her bc of the things that happened at Ryle. Congrats to all who made the list. Off the top of my head I would have had Sydney Himes (sp?) from Connor on the list first team and Hannah Dossett from GC also. I understand the enquirer doesn't see Dossett much but to my knowledge she is the only player in the NKY area with a D1 offer right now. I think Dossett will fill the shoes of Moran as being a D1 player that gets passed over for awards while receiving them in the sport she will not be attending in college. Funny how that happens.

Since I no longer have to be at the fields during the spring every day I think I am going to attend games of the coaches who are not members. My plan is to have one of those big "shame on you" signs made up like they do on the picket lines. Then I will play music and have a cup out for donations. CruBatBoy is willing to dress up in drag and dance. If that doesn't work we will have Lawnboy attend their games so something bad will happen. If that doesn't work we will tell softballfan that they support Ryle's old coach and let her unleash her venom! If that doesn't work we will get that hack lawyer friend of LB to file title 9.

Never done a camp there but offensive camp they do all kinds of different hitting drills and like wise with the defensive camps they do only fielding and no hitting. I didn't know they had individual camps so not sure what they detail.

Yes I remember that game..you guys walked her in extra innings with runners on 1st and 2nd...if I hadn't just opened a full beer I may have thrown it at your dugout!! It worked out for you guys though..

On her 18th birthday August 22nd...its her birthday present to get away from me!!

Maddy is looking to make a little extra cash this summer before heading off to school. If anyone is interested in hitting or fielding lessons let me know.
