14U USFA Northern Nationals EMR

Featured Replies

EMR 14U finished runner-up in the USFA Northern Nationals Sunday losing only to the champion Louisville Stunners. Who beat us early in bracket play and the championship game. EMR had to battle through 5 straight games Sunday to get to the Title game and pretty much ran out of gas. 6 games proved to be 1 too many. I don't think we had anything for them even fresh but it was a solid end to the season. Quite a few NKY kids on the EMR team and looking forward to seeing them in high school play next Spring.

Well lets give them a well deserved mention by naming them.

I'm confident they all will grace the softball threads over the next couple years on a regular basis. Jayda and Maclai are starters for Ryle. Cassidy and Makenzi JV starters behind a couple pretty good varsity players. Kayla was used as a DH for Conner (big surprise here as she led EMR at a .500 plus avg) Kenady did some pitching for Cooper Varsity this year and should get more opportunity this year. Cori had the pleasure of having to catch big sis at Ludlow. Olivia took a year off last year at Williamstown but is making the move to Walton and should make an impact there. Brennah had the task of trying to protect Shelby Graybiil at HHS and really found her stroke this summer. this Duo should make some coaches cringe even more this year.

This team could hit from top to bottom. All of the girls put the ball into play, and were excellent two out hitters. Kayla Ellis had two strike outs this summer with over 140 At Bats. Great bunch of girls, and its good to see that region 9 will have several good years to come.

Just curious why 9 players from NKY have to play on a team from IN? We need more teams in KY.

Yes, it is very common for players to look for travel ball teams outside of northern kentucky. It seems you sometimes need an organizations name to make it into invite tournaments, sad but true. It would be great to have a strong organzation in northern kentucky that provided great opportunities to compete at a higher level of travel ball. Hawks, Static, Doom, and not to mention the outstanding teams north of Dayton, Ohio. Also, some players travel great distances to play on premier select teams.

That was our thoughts as well when we were looking for a team. She was new to Kentucky and we were challenged to find a local team for her. We really enjoyed our time with EMR but have to now again find a place to play as our DD has to move to 16U along with a couple others. Due to EMR not fielding a 16U, team we are combining the kids moving to 16U into a new Kentucky based team. We understand the challenges with a new team but we really weighed our options and felt it is more important to try and keep the KY girls on a team based out of KY. Will we get invited to the big tournaments, probably not initially but there are plenty of options out there to get quality play in the mean time. Tryout dates are forthcoming but feel free to PM me with any questions?

Sure I understand. Just thought it was strange that basically the whole team was made up of KY kids and EMR has always fielded strong teams with Indiana based kids. Says quite a bit for that group of girls.

Isn't EMR based like 5 minutes outside of NKY?
