  1. Ouch.....Sounds like Coach Dawn put together a game plan and the Breds are executing it to perfection.
  2. This...... Sounds like NCC is forcing them to drive and Weyer is swatting everything. That is tough to correct unless you start making some 3's.
  3. Yes that is always difficult. Beechwood has an extreme luxury to keep a kid on JV who is being recruited D1. I do not know any other program that can. What summer team does he play for?
  4. So are they the best JV team in all of Northern Ky then?
  5. OH never heard a word about their JV.
  6. No way to objectively seed. It would be subjective voting/a poll. Just not a true way to do it. Of course the NCAA tournament is done that way so.........
  7. I think Mercer County might have been able to match up with them better. Franklin County got hot and made a nice run until Sunday when they really fell apart. BUT I can honestly say the quality of basketball especially those final four teams (Mercer Co. Murray Franklin County and Butler) were really well coached and played a very high level of basketball. A lot of local people missed out on some high quality games!!!!
  8. Yes there is a huge difference with the security folks and BBandT employees. Good question about the general admission as I thought it caused a lot of confusion for folks but that is what was agreed upon by the KHSAA. And I will give you the point that while the arena did a great job, the Northern KY. area did not do things I expected of them to host a prestigious event. Just my two cents.
  9. Yes that lack of local people was disheartening. And I agree with those about the publicity of the event but.........for example the Enquirer just refused to cover once the local teams were out.
  10. Event staff was very gracious. Unfortunately you have that "one person" whose team lost and they feel as if they can do what they want. They want to sit wherever they want and when it is explained to them that the KHSAA has reserved seating for teams that are not participating they yell at the event staff and cause a scene. The issue comes down to the event staff must enforce the rules that Julian Tackett wants enforced and then some people want to say the staff is rude when they do not want to follow those rules. :idunno:
  11. Proximity gets people in the seats. Look at the crowds Campbell and Trimble brought vs Murray and Harlan. Also, take Butler.......On Thurs. they had a huge student section because they got out of school and the school bussed them. No busses for students the rest of the weekend and guess what? About 30 students on Sat. and maybe 100 today. WKU, EKU, NKU.........all of those arenas are going to limit the furthest schools from bringing large crowds. The tournament was very well received by all and the KHSAA reps were very pleased with the BB & T staff and their ability to handle situations that occurred and the staffs willingness to enforce rules that the KHSAA put in place.
  12. I have yet to hear anyone say wow that is a great idea when it comes to the state tournament program. Does anyone know how many years the KHSAA has been doing this?
  13. When Murray cut it to two in the fourth quarter I really thought they had it but wow Butler turned up the heat and within one min. it was back to ten.
  14. Yes this is correct. A ton of credit to Coach Sanders not only as the Bellevue head coach but also as Briley's summer coach with Bluegrass Chiefs to put him in a position to be recruited by a wide range of schools.
  15. I think NCC fits in this mix somewhere.......Not sure where yet though.
  16. Regardless of how "great" or "bad" (tongue in cheek on that term) Highlands team is I think it really benefits Northern Ky. that they play a regional schedule. From an outside perspective I also think it forced 6A schools in the area to really "step up their game" knowing that in order to win a state title at 6A you have to be able to compete with Highlands. Playing Highlands also is a great draw because like it or not when you play Highlands it is always a focus on the schedule for players and fans. Honestly, they are the equivalant of playing UK in basketball or Notre Dame in football.
  17. Sure everybody's opinion counts. That what makes a forum. You have never set foot in the arena and continue to exaggerate and downgrade it. Its all good and yes I do have a positive opinion about the place.
  18. I see a very few handful of people that say I will not go. You just continue to berate to just have something to do obviously. OH well......the arena will get by without you ever coming in the doors.
  19. Girls state starts next week so they would be MT FS. Most regions go with a MT FS format for the first state tourney (girls or boys) and a WT MT for the state tournament that starts second.
