    Iles definitely can make a difference in the rotation this year if he is developing as well as projected. Workman a pretty smart pitcher who locates well.

    Man now we will have to search you........Just a joke.......In all seriousness these are good tips. And again I understand the price frustration. What I want to stress is things that happened 7 years ago or 5 years ago does not mean it is the same now. I know a few posters (especially those at the disaster that ways hosting two regional tournaments at the same time) need to realize that the arena staff has improved tremendously and works very hard with Stan Steidel to make it a wonderful experience.

    No clue what this means. My point is that arenas are going to definitely have different rules than a high school gym. If you are dealing with an arena then you are dealing with a different breed. I think they have come a long way from when they hosted both regionals in the same year and are much more accommodating. The folks running the arena really do put forth a great effort to put together a first class production for all involved. I get the point that maybe a high school gymnasium is what some prefer but that is not the case and it is not some horrible dismal atmosphere with no cheering, etc. that some are suggesting. The arena is a great atmosphere for the teams and is first class in all aspects.

    Hey now........Seriously it does deal with a lot of issues...not saying I agree just saying they have rules.....And actually I think they have come a long way in being much more accomodating.

    And I really should have reworried the first sentence to not sound so abrupt. My meaning was if you have never had to deal with the headaches of running events at an arena it is hard to understand why some rules get put in place by an arena.

    Well if you to run an event at an arena you would understand why arenas have rules that perhaps high school gymnasiums do not. No posters at any event at the arena is allowed. It really does not take away from the cheering or the games. Not being able to spell your name in big letters and hang signs really does not change the atmosphere at all. Seems to me to be more ridiculous to get "hung up" on something so meaningless as hanging a sign that you get so upset about it.

    For Newport it looks like addition by subtraction. Definitely showed that some of the other players can really step up when counted upon.

    Not sure I can handle you promoting Highlands....:laugh: But in all seriousness I am betting you are 100% correct. And when your "down year" is being a state semi finalist in Class 5A man you must be really down.......

    Who will be expected to carry the scoring load for Highlands next season? I am hoping for a really big year from LaFrange and I assume Posey as well.

    NCC can shoot the ball unbelievable some times. They have to have games they shoot over 50% from 3 point range.

    OK my take on this is this. I specifically heard that a Highlands player was suspended from the team and it was repeated a few times during the Newport/Bellevue game. Obviously, this was not true but their are those that will say well I know it was true and that so and so from Highlands said this or so and so from NCC said he was not supposed to play and he did.....on and on. My thought is it could be dropped at this point since although verified it was bad information that was verified. Just my take on the subject.......:ylsuper:

    Well I tend to follow individual players so LaFrange, Dougherty, Kendall, New & Cain. How did they fare? I saw points for Hebel and Finfrock in an earlier post and that was all.

    Well first of all "people in glass houses" may be a quote you need to live by. Secondly, if you were at the game you know what he is talking about since Coach Listerman got upset with the foul call on his player. And NKYknowitall is normally at all Newport games so I doubt it was what he HEARD (why in caps I am not sure). As far as your shot that they were lucky to draw Bellevue....well Highlands had control of that situation and by losing to Bellevue put themselves in a terrible spot. Now as far as Highlands is concerned those seniors play as hard as any group around and they are really quality kids. Despite the record it looks like the coaches and players put the efforts in to win and did not just "pack the season in." A lot to be said for the character of those young men and their ability to put forth effort no matter what the situation. That will take them far in life!!!!!

    Do not underestimate what Snapp can do when necessary. One of the reasons, I think, he has not scored as much this year is Newport has had plenty of options.....This game could (stress could) be his big game this year.

    While I fully expect NCC to win the Bluebirds will show up and give effort. Highlands needs to keep the game in the 30's. Not sure if their "turnover" issues will allow them to hold the ball and keep the score down though.

    Congrats to the players on the Bluebird team. Hopefully they can be competitive in Weds. game!!!!!
