Like I said in the prediction thread......... These next couple weeks should give everyone a real read on where the program is currently. Some tough teams coming up, but you also have a injury riddled NCC team that I have no clue if they will be healthy. That would be a nice district win.

Heck you might even be able to get away with a "school within a school" if you do it correctly.....

Its going to be a midseason tournament so it will not affect the state tournament....but if it leads to classification that really needs to happen.

Holy Cross beat a very depleted NCC squad and they have not shown me anything that makes me think they are a state contender........No offense just an opinion.

No I mean Newport makes that state tourney bracket just as loaded as NCC did. Newport is a very strong team that can win it.

The 7th graders are on the 8th grade team. 6th grade lost first game of season to Highlands the other night in the Dayton Tourney

Kind of odd watching a school that has 50 kids grades 6-8 in it and a total of 6 boys in the 8th grade class play at such a high level. And have the size they have with the two big kids they have in Pangallo and Iles.

No he did not.....Pangallo (the kid you referenced) did have 18 and the point guard had 18.

Watched Holy Trinity vs Gray 8th grade last night in Dayton Tournament. Gray was absolutely dismantled. It was 20 -3 at end of first quarter Holy Trinity. Half was 31 -11.

Just to clarify so as not to appear I know something I was quoting another thread. Judas Priest said all those people asked him. I am not privy to that kind of info at Newport.

First, I would guess there are several more applicants than 2. Secondly, the way I am reading it everybody is asking Schmitz to come back so not sure why anyone would apply at this point if they have not. Nothing worse than being the obligatory interview with no chance of getting a job. Third, Schmitz did a phenominal job the first go round. As much as I may like another coach and wish him well, it would be crazy that if they feel they can let the past go not to hire him considering he has proven himself at Newport at a very high level.

Justin Mason is a fantastic upcoming coach. Just needs the break to get a head coaching gig.........

Yeah.......ok........... And honestly I have no problem with kids being eligible when switching schools but lets be upfront and honest about it.
