SC's Seth Crank nails three-pointer at buzzer to send into OT. Cards got enough stops late then Crank hit a pair of free throws to ice it. An amazing game to watch.

Scott County junior forward Tereka Guyn was honored before last night's win over Lexington Catholic for joining the 1,000 career points and 1,000 rebound club. She eclipsed both marks in a Dec. 11 win over Bryan Station. Guyn has started since seventh grade and should break into the state's all-time rebounding list before she graduates. Congrats to Tereka!!!

Hicks has commented that the team was embarrassed by their showing the last time around, which fueled their fire in the Beach Ball. Henry Clay is every bit as athletic as any team in the state. Maybe the most from top to bottom. Game will be a war. I'll say the home team in a VERY close one. 70-68 SCHS. Also I think the game will be on WLAP radio station in Lexington. I think its the Meijer game of the week.

Jahlil Okafor for Whitney Young is the No. 1 player for the 2014 class. Cards will have their hands full inside, but if Gilbert and Richardson can get hot and put up close to 30 I wouldn't count out Hicks and company. Good luck to the CARDS!!!

Quin Richardson's 29 points and Trent Gilbert's 23 points lead the Cardinals past St. Rita (ILL) in the Beach Ball Classic. SCHS moves into the semifinals of the Beach Ball and will take on the winner of Bishop Gorman (NV) and Whitney Young (ILL) tomorrow night. St. Rita had beaten Christ Presbyterian (TN), the champs of the King of the Bluegrass tourney, on Thursday. Good win for the Cards!

Thanks! I am new to the team and was corrected of that tonight at the Tates Creek scrimmage. SC looked very tough in the first quarter but fell off after that. Not in very good shape as of yet and couldn't make anything when the legs gave out. And heard actually they are optimistic of Niels eligibility and were told they'd know in 15 days.

Tay Guyn did not play with the freshmen at their Midnight Madness on Monday. He saw a lot of action with the jv and varsity. Other names too look out for - Tony Martini, Seth Crank, Tyler Paige and Aaron Kindred - this kid was throwing down windmills in lay up lines and showed some nice ability as a slashing guard. Will be interested to see them tonight against another school for the first time this year. And I also hear it would be a surprise if Niels gets eligible.

As of Monday he is on the team and Hicks is expecting him to play a HUGE role on this year's team. He said after a year off, he's looking good for the upcoming season.

How many appeals are you allowed? I had heard this was already his second appeal. SCHS had there midnight madness Monday night and the kid from Florida is very, very raw... But is a HUGE presence in the pain and thwarted many shots. Still needs to work on his strength and looks like he is still growing into his body. Trent Gilbert showed why he should be considered as one of the state's best shooters (IMO) and if Hicks can get his younger kids to come around they are FREAKY ATHLETIC! Biggest problem will be rebounding. Long way to go on the boards.

The last word I had heard was the Florida kid was cleared but still waiting on the foreign exchange kid.

In the first game - SCHS took the opening kickoff back to the house. 7-0. Then had a pick six on SK's first play. 14-0, barely a minute in. Then a SK punt, and SCHS had two long 30+ yard runs and another score. 20-0. Then a safety. 22-0 with Five minutes to go in the first quarter. ... The quick start by SCHS was the knockout blow. The score may change, and I expect it to be closer, but the outcome stays the same.
