NDA kept up the domination of NKY soccer by beating a Brossart team that came in with high hopes. It was a well played game that did not see a lot of shots on goal due to both teams defensive play. The 1st half goal was scored on a Controversial no call for an off side infraction which saw the NDA player tapped the ball in undefended due to everyone stopping. :idunno: Bad time to stop playing while the ball was still live. 1-0 1st half. Second half more of the same. Hard play on both side and finally NDA broke through and scored a very nice goal on a runner down the middle. 2-0 final for 2 very good teams. NDA's speed took Brossart out of the ball control game (which they do very well) most of the game with their speed and beating them to many balls. Good luck to both teams as they head into the playoffs.

Anyone that has seen Brossart play knows that there defense across the back is very good. They just have to find a way to score against a team with good defenders. If they can do this they could win this game and make a run in the state tournament. I think they have a better shoot this year than the next 2 as mentioned above with all the talent they will be losing. Good luck to both and hope nobody gets injured in a game that really means nothing except pride.:popcorn:

How do defenders get credit without numbers to prove there worth (goals/assists):confused:

Brossart defensive players should get a little love from somebody. They have only allowed maybe 8 goals this year while playing a very tough schedule. Played last night to a 0-0 tie at ryle in a cold rain storm. Schedule says they play SK Wend. night at SK and NDA at their place Thursday. These should give everyone a good idea where they stand. I like there chances.:popcorn:

There is a past Brossart guy already on the staff at CCHS on the girls sideline that would be great for the job if they would give him a chance (Kevin). Great guy and very good coach that truly loves working with kids????

By the way good facilities do not equate to good results; Look at the sports programs at CC. Many complaints from CC supporters about the results on the fields and courts and the lower than expecedt wins per season speak for itself. For having a gym that in the CC volleyballs coaches eyes is and I quote "a dump" (said during a match this year) they turn out a pretty good product year after year and there (BBHS) record speaks for itself.

I think they do understand better than some CC supporters because anything done at BBHS is paid for by donations not TAX money collected from EVERYONE including BBHS parents that live in CC. Also if they would like to donate their old field I am sure BBHS would love to have it since.

Listening to the tone above in some of the posts it is pretty easy to hear. If you don't hear it you are not reading the same posts I am. It is either you are with us (public Schools) or hell with you. You made your decision. What would CCHS do if Brossart closed their doors and 450 kids showed up at there door??? Be glad private schools take some of the burden off public schools. Do you know the expense they would have with all the extra kids just in teachers and facilities. They could not afford it.

It is amazing to me the hatred toward BBHS and it all comes down to a little school down the street that has better test scores, high college placement numbers, winning sports programs and no resource officer (cop) needed in the school to get through the day so someone doesn't get assulted. That is exactly the thinking the reinforces my decision to send my child to private school. Hopefully this new stadium helps them get there sports programs where they should have been for the last 30 years before these parents go crazy or maybe from the comments above its to late.

Using the field for Brossart games would be great but playing Campbell on their opening night to get killed not so great.

Because it is a 1A school that is not very good playing a 6A school that would beat them like a tied up goat. Getting beat by 70 points is not good for anyone except the offensive stats for the Winning team.

I do hope the bird come to town and we will see how they feel on the losing end of a game like it would have been for Brossart except it might only be a 30-40 point beatdown.

Festivities would stop at kickoff for Brossart. Why would they want to start their season with a 70-0 thrashing. If they are looking to bring the community together let they use the field they helped pay for for their 1st game on Saturday night against a team they can play with and maybe win. now that would be good for all the kids. Hell I think they (Brossart) would be happy to use the Middle School field so they don't drive to Scott. I would have "turned them down flat" also because it is not in the best interest of those kids at Brossart and that CC coach knows that.

Let me ask, should BBHS be able to use a field when avalible so they do not have to pay to use Scotts field for games. IMO they should get permission since 85% of kids that go there are from Alexandria and pay taxes to build CCHS and all their "Extras". Also in the post that asked if Brossart wanted the 1st game on the field I assume they wanted them to play CCHS in that game. If that is truly the case I would have turned it down as well since they are not ready to play a 6A school and Christian the new field with their blood.

3.) Catholic schools have to be able to attract kids to be able to exist. Is there any greater way to sell your school than to slap your name on a kids chest, play on our team, and we will give you a season long sales pitch why we want you. and Highland does this every day because there middle school is in an attached building (Catholic schools kids have to pick a different school all together). Now that is a recruiting tool. Oh and by the way come play pewee football in Ft. Thomas and play on our field and if you are good come here and pay to play for us. Does not matter that you live in Southern Campbell County or elsewhere, come on down. Also they also have a pretty good school. I thought I would save that for last since it sounds like that is the last thing people think is important in a childs decision to where to go to school!

Good win for Brossart and shows why they are ranked 3rd in nky behind NDA and SHDH. Does anyone know why they have not moved up in the State standings??? From what I have read here and in the paper they have won some good games and and lost to some top ranked teams in the state by 1. how do others see it???

Just make it simple. Do not let any Middle school student play above freshman level in any sport at any school. That would solve the issue with parents sending their child to a school to play up just to get the experiance when they have no intention of ever sending them there as a freshman. They are just using the program for their needs and that needs to stop. I think NCC already has that rule in place and I think it is a good one. If I am wrong about that I am sure someone will correct me. At a private school that child is not even paying to go there and are put on JV or Varsity team in front of anyone that is paying to go there. That is just wrong.

I hate to burst your bubble but CCHS just killed BBHS the other night in 4 games. The 3 they won were all blowouts. Talent level did not seem that bad for CCHS even though I think BBHS has good talent but played poorly.

2 things; hardly any of these kids play together any more. They play Kings or any other club team so that is not the case. 2nd the numbers just don't add up. How many 7th or 8th graders play at NDA,Highlands, Dixie, CCHS, ect... (large school) versus NCC, Brossart, Holy Cross, ect... (small school). I know I am beating this horse and I am not intending on beat you (king102876) but I get sick and tired of the small school not getting the respect they deserve for what they do. I think it is an oddity to see a 1A school beat a 6A school in everything but you do see it at times and to me it speaks volumes for the dedication and the effort or those programs and those kids and to have someone or anybody downplay that just gets my goat.

in the 90's I would agree with you. all the kids played for their school teams in avarage leagues. Now knowbody plays for their school team in rec and more schools are having hard time fielding teams because everyone is plays select. To say Brossart or NCC have the Same pull to pick from at the respective schools is not even close. How many girls came out for soccer at Notre Dame and where not good enough to make the cut??? Brossaart and NCC may have Cut 1 or 2 kids that would not help the program. Everyone else plays to have the numbers to make teams at all levels including 6th,7th and 8th grades. how many 7th grades are playing at highlands or Notra Dame. My guess is non??? There is a difference that people do not want to see and it is kids that work there tails off and get not credit for it. I just hope we keep seeing little schools winning and maybe some day someone will say good for them. just not bash there fans.

5-0 soccer game is a beat down unless you are in U-8 soccer. It would be nice to see BBHS get a little credit for beating a school with twice as many kids in it. As for the arrogance comment coming from an HHS fan well that speaks for itself. HHS fans don't like losing to anybody and it really kills them when a small school like Brossart steps up and gets it done. Good luck to the Ava Abner in her recovery. Nobody wants to see a kid go through that. PS I don't think blueCrush is a big brossart support by may be a big fan of anyone playing HHS.

Brossart took on the Lady Birds from Highlands at Pendry Park last night. Brossart Scored 1 goal in the 1st half to take the lead. The Lady Mustangs came out in the second half and scored 4 unanswered goal for a final of 5-0.

Putting NDA in the small school catagory with 700-800 girls in the school is laughable. They are on the same level as all the schools you mentioned being all female. There is a big difference between the number of girls in those schools and the "small schools. Give credit were credit is due to the small schools. By the way in the paper this morning it showed Brossart took Highlands to 5 games last night before losing 16-14 in the 5th game. Pretty amazing for a small school even though Highlands is not a Power House by any definition but way bigger the Brossart. I know I am beating this up but I have a soft heart for small schools with kids that bust there tails off getting no repect at all. I love when the underdog wins and small school win there fair share and nobody seems to notice. It is not fair to those kids!!! One example of no respect 2 years ago a parent at Campbell brought a cake to the district finals which read "Campbell County District champs" then Brossart beat them in the finals. I would call that getting no respect and all it did was motivated some hard working player to play even harder and make them eat cake that I bet tasted a lot like CROW. The big powerhouse programs are amazing how good they are and they are fun to watch if you like volleyball but don't forget the little guys in all sports not just volleyball.

Great defensive game by both teams. Not many good clean shoots on goal because of the defenders efforts at both ends but the few that did get shoots off were stop by very good keeper play. Shootouts are not a great way to decide a 80 min game but those are the rule. Hope the Schabell Girl in not badly injuried but it did not look good. Please update if anyone knows.
