What about the catch he made on the sidelines with less than 15 seconds on the clock to give the cougars the ball on the 1 yard line? I think that one was better than the 4th down catch. He had defenders draped all over him, still managed to make the grab, AND get a foot in bounds. Wow. Also, I know the play was called back so it didn't count, but it still happened.. How about the second td he had called back for Penalty? Barker scrambled, found Fogle in the flat, and he made two defenders fall down, and left another in the dust.. He is very impressive player to say the least. The Cougar D really tightened it up in the second half, and showed their heart. #74, I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name, so I'll call him Monster, played unreal on the defensive line. This is the first time I have seen him on that side of the ball, but he definitely belongs there. Kid was all over and couldn't be blocked. It's not official, but I'll guess he had somewhere in the range of 9 tackles and 3 or 4 sacks. The Cougar tight end, Padgett, made some great catches in traffic tonight as well. He got lit up a few times, and still kept coming. Showed a lot of toughness. Great comeback, and team win for Conner, great way to respond to a loss, and get momentum moving in their direction for 5a play. Players, parents, coaches, and fans should be proud of those young men tonight.

It doesn't matter how many they give up, as long as they score more than the other team.

The score of Boone vs Conner was 31-19. I don't see CC scoring that much. They may hold the ball and control the clock with the run game, but Conners offense can score quickly. I'll stick with my prediction of the cougars by 14 or more.

200 Yards rushing may be overstating it a bit. If the Cougars don't come to tackle, he may have a big game, but I don't see him running for 200, that is a big game for a running back, much less a QB. I don't think CC has enough speed to match up with Conner's offense. Could be a shootout, or it could be a blow out. I have a feeling the loss to Dixie last week was a wake up call for the Cougars, and they come to play this week. I'm picking Conner, by 14 or more.

He has been on multiple visits, none for baseball. As far as I know he doesn't have much, if any interest in playing baseball at the next level. I know for a fact that there have been 20+ schools contact and come to visit him at Conner in regards to football. He has been on several campus visits, that I know of for sure so far this season. There are multiple articles, and interviews that he has done with scout.com, rivals.com etc.

You are correct, as far as I know, that Fogle doesn't play summer ball (due to his dedication to football). I believe that his exposure came from the showcase event prior to the All-State game over the summer, where he showed amazing speed in the 60, and his arm strength from the outfield. I'm not aware of the specific MLB clubs, I just know what I've been told by those who are close to him, and Conner athletics. I am not sure about Maines and Padgett either, I can ask around and see what I can find out..

I think Conner will use the loss to Dixie as fuel for their fire. I just hope their D Line accepts the challenge and steps up this week. That, in my opinion, has been their biggest weak spot thus far this year. And from what I have heard, the CC quarterback is a tough runner, and tough to bring down.

The Cougars re-focus their energy this week, and get back on track against Campbell Co. Everything needs to tighten up before 5A play begins the following week. Conner by 14 pts.

Vinnie Pangallo was carried off the field, and has how left the stadium with medics, looked to be an ankle, or lower leg injury of sorts. I hate to see injuries. Kid is a good player for HC.

I agree with what you say here. Like I said earlier, it's tough to get a judge on ranking a team when so many of them have yet to play district games, or games against teams in their own class. The rankings will work out better, and be more easily defined as the weeks go by.

Just looked up the average temperatures for Salem Oregon for the months of July and August, and they show mid to high 80's. So im going to guess that this black turf will have a triple digit heat index on multiple occasions.. No thanks!

I would just like to point out that you are the one who said how last years game's don't matter this year, yet in your last two posts in this thread, you have brought up games from last year. Don't get caught up in these rankings. Not one poster on here said Franklin County was a bad team this year, opinions will be different across the board..

I personally like the way the Boise St blue turf looks.. I absolutely hate the red. Overall, I am not a fan of turf, no matter what color. I would much rather play on grass any day.

Whipped their butts? I think you may have gone slightly overboard with that statement. They lost 31-30 in the final minutes of the game.. And you are correct last year is last year, and shouldn't hold much weight when it comes to this season. With that being said, it is very early in the year, so there isn't much to go on when "ranking" teams. So sometimes, last years games are going to be brought up in these types of discussions.

Conner Sr. centerfielder C. Fogle, a 4 year varsity player, will be top 2 all around players in NKY this season, along with Tiberi. Fogle set several offensive carreer school marks last year as a junior, so his senior year is all gravy. Word has is several MLB clubs have contacted Fogle this past summer. His future looks to be on the gridiorn, but it's always nice to have options.

I bet in the summer months that field will radiate some serious heat. I know it's Oregon, and doesn't get quite as hot as other parts of the country, but still.. Green turf gets hot, Can't imagine how hot a black turf field will get..

I agree with all those who have posted that Franklin Co. cannot defend against a strong offensive team. Which confuses me, because they practice against a very talented spread offense daily. I would put Franklin Co. at #5 and have Conner/Cooper share the #4 spot until they play each other in a few weeks. It is still way too early to rank teams in my opinion. Not enough teams have played within district, or class for that matter. Conner, for example has not played a single 5A team, and won't for another two weeks. Tough to judge when teams haven't started playing within class yet.
