  1. Yes from the perspective of this SH parent.
  2. IMO. Jacob Hensley at NCC is probably the best defender in NKY. No disrespect to Kenney. He's a quality player as well.
  3. Not only did they switch sides, I believe they ended up extending the clock. Do any officials know what the rule is that would dictate one team playing the same direction for three quarters of the game? IMO the hydration break appeared to be mainly for the benefit of the center ref. I don't think the referees have had enough games to be prepared for hot and humid weather yet. Final score 2-0. Adam Lannon scored the insurance goal.
  4. Can anyone tell me where to find an online schedule for the Boys All A tournament in Northern Kentucky? I think the tournament starts in less than two weeks but I'm not sure who is hosting or what the brackets look like. Thanks for any help you can provide.
  5. First, I would like to thank Allen for posting the great photos Second to the coaches decision not to play certain players I would offer the following. Coaches do what they think is best for the team. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't. I guess we will find out next week when they play for real. Perhaps the organizers of the event could take the time to look at the match ups and not schedule teams to play each other that are already scheduled for a regular season game. Especially if it's less than two weeks later.
  6. I heard that Villa beat Gallatin County 6-1.
  7. Why would public school administrators adjust anything to attract more students? They're funding is already determined and the more students they get, the more students they have to educate with the same amount of funding.
  8. O'Hara goes to Boone, Hensley goes to NCC and Eibel and Green go to St. Henry. I can't post the entire list until my email server comes back up. IT issues...... There are two on the list from Highlands if I remember correctly.
  9. Congratulations to Evan O'Hara and Jacob Hensley for making first team all state Also to Corey Eibel and Alex Green for honorable mentions. All four are quality individuals as well as very good soccer players.
  10. Congratulations to Cov Cath on a well played game and dominant performance. Congratulations to both teams on good seasons. Best wishes to Covington Catholic to advance to state.
  11. St. Henry only had one senior that doesn't start. Not sure why a freshman who isn't as good as him got minutes in both halves before he entered the game for the first time with roughly five minutes to go.
  12. Dixie went ahead 1-0 in the first half and St. Henry tied it up on a goal by Baeten. Dixie went ahead 3-1 and St. Henry cut it to one goal on a pk by Dehner after Langen was taken down in the box with just a few minutes left to play. Great coaching by Dixie and great game by #12 for Dixie who shredded the Crusader defense for a beautiful goal. He earned and received tournament MVP honors. Good luck to both teams in the regional tournament!
  13. I was told by a Boone parent that he had a partial muscle tear and should be able to play basketball but probably wouldn't be back before soccer was over.
  14. I agree with your top five although I haven't seen Cov Cath play and I haven't seen Highlands since the beginning of the season. With Borkoski out hurt for Boone, I'd probably give a slight edge to NCC. As others have said, any of these teams could win their region if they go on a roll.
  15. Correction, Louis took the first shot and Connolly scored the goal off of the carom.
  16. NCC comes from behind to win 2-1 on a wet field at St. Henry today. They get their first goal on a pk to tie and then have a nice goal by Louis (i think) after a cross or carom in the box. St. Henry went ahead during the first half off of a goal by Grome. Much better game than the first match up during the All A.
  17. Boone County was led by Mayberry and O'Hara with several others scoring. Game wasn't as close as the score suggests. Similar to the New Cath loss, St. Henry fails to adjust to a team with fast offensive players. Major letdown two days after a nice win over BB.
  18. St. Henry comes from behind on senior night to defeat BB 2-1. Brossart scored first on a pk and then Wesdorp scored unassisted and Lannon scored the go ahead goal off an assist from Dehner. Center ref lost control early and IMO did a poor job - letting players be ridden to the ground (multiple times and both ways) from behind with no call. Very physical game all night long. Congratulations to the Crusaders on a quality win- especially the seniors!
  19. Thanks for the detailed answer imsays. One question to clarify. Is the keeper considered a defender in the first element?
  20. St. Henry and Ryle tie 3-3 at Ryle tonight in a hard fought match. Ryle striker Suleiman (sp?) was very strong tonight. SH gets goals from Grome, Wesdorp and Fugazzi. Fugazzi's goal was from midfield on two bounces that Ryle's freshman keeper appeared to misjudge. This was a physical game kept well under control by the officiating crew. Ryle announcer was annoying. Calling a player rude from the press box is a little over the line IMO.
  21. St. Henry lost a hard fought game to a good Louisville Male team last night 4-3. The Cru had a chance to go up early on two hard, short range shots that were stopped by the Male keeper. St. Henry fought back from a 2-0 deficit to get within one. SH goals were scored by Grome, Eibel (pk) and Lannon. Eibel was pulled down in the box by the Male defender as he was breaking away. Can one of the soccer experts enlighten me on what the rule is to generate a yellow card in addition to the pk? No card given last night.
