Doesn't Boone have a chance to be realigned in class 5 next period? If so, wouldn't that make the job a lot more attractive?

I do believe they want state championships in Park Hills and there is that program in Ft. Thomas standing in their way. Sometimes when you have a good thing, you don't realize it untill its gone (See Phillip Fulmer @ Tennessee).

NDA seems to be the only NKy program that is immune from the proverbial "laying of the egg". Every other program out there has 1 or 2 games where they just don't show up mentally. NDA's coaching staff desevers credit for their kids being ready to play every game.

Isn't that kind of unrealistic for a fairly small school like NCC (or BW or HC for that matter)? I know some of the large schools take that attitude , but when you have about 900 males on your campus , you can get a way with it. Sometimes I think the utra-competitive sports culture is taking some joy out of HS sports.

Demands and expectations of AAU programs? Varsity coaches expecting commitment to one sport? 12 month a year conditioning and participation expectations? Parents who have unrealistic assessment of their child's skill level? Disclaimer: I have no connection to NCC and am just throwing these out.

In a barn burner in Independence The Lady Pioneers built an 8 point half time lead and held on for the win. The last 2 min was a foul shooting contest between Biel and Owings with both players having ice in their veins. P. Bosse scored well in the first half and The Lady Indians had pretty balanced scoring throughout. The bigs for both teams were in foul trouble and one fouled out from each side. This game was a great test for both teams going into tournament season. Holy Cross is IMO the most complete team in region 9. Bigs, guards, a scoring forward and depth off the bench. I would rate HC as the region 9 favorite. Seniors P. Bosse and K. Morrison were honored before the game. Abby Owings was honored at half for scoring her 1000 th point last week against Campbell county.

TS, assuming that W-V had a similiar game plan against HHS as they did against NCC, it would be interesting to compare box scores. Didn't Kiernan foul out of that game??? Maybe its just the home teams that seem to be benefitting?

It seems as if the 9th region folks percieve the 8th region as allowing more physical play while 8th region folks feel the converse?

My comments were a generalization, and not specific to this game. I did not attend this game nor do I believe anyone is complaining about the officiating. As long as the officiating is consistent, it is up to the players to adjust.

Adjusting from 8th region to 9th region officiating is really a big deal. Body foul calls that you would get in 8th region are simply not called by 9th region officials. I would think in a state tournament situation, not only would you need to scout your opponent, you actually would need a scouting report on the officiating! You cannot got to the basket expecting to get calls. Especially late in the game. You have to be able to finish through contact! Or if you have to, mug somebody to force the officials to make calls!

And there is no club swimming without a facility to practice in! Try putting some push pins on a map and say again! Clearly proximity to Silverlake or NKU facilitates club swimming!

CCH dominates swimming just about every year. The combination of proximity to Silverlake and not having a wrestling program in a sport where depth is rewarded makes them near unbeatable. In fact, just about all of the schools within a 7 mile radius of Silverlake dominate swimming. The only exception is Ryle who is very competitivw.

I have seen head coaches walk 20 -30 feet on to the floor while screaming at officials. This was behaviour that cleaarly merited ejection. Only a single technical was assessed. I think that communicates a standard of behavior to the spectators in attendance that is not desireable.

Maybe instead of school, it is the recruiting staff itself that needs to be tracked. In any case, it is a great idea to document and track this kind of behavior.

Sure, but the recruiting staffs are supposed to be adults, are they not? Can't wait for the recruiting types to show up not knowing mom is a former D1 head coach!

So what the schools are really saying is that we commit to you unless we find someone who we think is stronger before signing day? Between this and the practice of offering more scholarships than you have available, I'd say this is one dirty business. Not looking forward to going through this with my kid! Commitment means nothing in this process!
