Based on another thread involving Butler....what other schools may have fumbled recruiting this year? Visited kids at HS? Invited them to visit their campus? sent letters, texts and emails? Said they were going to offer but never did? Did offer and pulled it back?

 

Seems like there are several of these every year.

Maybe instead of school, it is the recruiting staff itself that needs to be tracked. In any case, it is a great idea to document and track this kind of behavior.

I'm not sure where and how many schools get their information. It seems that some get improper information. For example, one college coach called my house to speak to my son. He sent 100 texts and some mail. He even spoke to me about his school and my son playing there. I told him, "That all sound great, and, of course, I'm not going to report you because I want my son to get a scholarship, but you do know he's a sophomore and you're not supposed to be able to call him yet". He apologized and said he would call my son in a couple years. For some reason, this coach got information that my son was a senior.

 

Not a revoked scholarship, but misinformation on the coaches part. I just wonder what other false information they get.

I assume from your post that it was a D1 coach that called? I ask because as far as I understand all other levels it would have been acceptable (D2, D3, and NAIA).

It was a NAIA school.

 

The way I understand it, it is the same for all levels. They can send mail, but can not call until the spring of the played junior year, and they can only call once a week. At least that is what I have read.

My son received feedback from a school for a year and what they were telling the high school coaches wasn't how it turned out. I believe they has the feeling he was a big lean and offered him a preferred with the scholarship carrot dangled down the road. He was offered immediately by another school and after a couple I days he said dad those guys want me and not who flirted with him. He said I want to go where I am wanted and signed with the school that offered. I believe he was played

Anybody have any issues with Georgetown?
