  1. Tates Creek @ Campbell County GRC @ Ryle Dixie @ Lafayette Boone @ Madison Central Simon Kenton finished 5th & gets to play Trinity round 1.
  2. Believe this means Boone County will be playing Madison Central in round 1 in Richmond.
  3. MC wins this week & BC will be coming back to Richmond for the 1st round of the playoffs. Both teams opened up there, seems like the Roy Kidd Bowl @ EKU was just yesterday...
  4. Its gonna be smashmouth football both ways. I think the Rebels D can slow down the Camels running game. Will be interesting to see if the coaches hold out any players since district positions are locked up for both teams...
  5. I agree. I wasn't there, but unless it was blatantly directed toward Ryle (taunting rather than celebrating) then let the kids, coaches & fans celebrate. I quite honestly don't care what the coach of the other team thinks as long as nothing is directed toward his team. Winning district is a big deal! All these teams have been working since last December to win their district. Maybe the "every team makes the playoffs thing" has cheapened a district title a bit. What if teams didn't go to the playoffs unless they won district (not saying that that is how it should be just asking). Do you think anyone would have a problem with celebrating then?
  6. Sandman wasn't saying the Camels were the blind squirrel. He was saying, he was the blind squirrel. Congrats to the CC's players & coaches on a much deserved title. It is easy to lose faith at 0-5, but they never gave up. Great lesson for all...
  7. I don't think so. Dixie would be 3-1 in district. Ryle & Boone 2-2 w/ Ryle winning tiebreaker.
  8. Don't they have it locked up? 3-0 with wins over the 2 one loss teams (Dixie & Ryle). Dixie & Ryle play each other so there will be no 3-way tie. The Camels would win a head-to-head tie breaker with either Ryle or Dixie. Right?
  9. Asked my son (he is on the team and was present at halftime) about this post & he had no idea what I was talking about...
  10. I do find it curious that Male is back at #8. A couple week's ago it was asked if the team was their worst in 30 years. Were they that impressive last week? Maybe putting them back in the top 10 was to create some conversation on the forum...
  11. Yes, it was their first scoring drive.
  12. Call was awful, but had zero impact on the game. Dixie won fair and square. Felt Boone had momentum late 3rd QTR/early 4th they were driving using smashmouth, had 2nd & 1 at Dixie 40 turned to 2nd & 11 by holding call. Didn't adjust personnel or play calling and wound up punting after 2 more runs with no WR's on the field. Boone's D forced fumble at midfield mid 4th Qtr, but 2 sacks and incomplete pass later had to punt. Hats off to Dixie's defense in the 2nd half of this game they looked better than Boone's. Very Surprising...
  13. I know Dixie has been hit with some injuries early. They have had a couple weeks to get healthy. Will they have all of their players that have missed time back for Friday night? I still like Boone in this game, even if Dixie is 100%, based upon the week in week out performance of its defense & the flashes that the offense has shown. I understand that Dixie has played tougher competition, but Boone played the one common opponent (Cov Cath) much tougher than Dixie. I think this will be a close game won by Boone unless Dixie is +2 in the turnover column. Boone 28-14.
  14. 2 blocked kicks, 2 failed 2-pt conversions. Boone ended the first half inside Male's 1 yard line & the game ended w/ Boone taking knees inside Male's 5. Mix in a couple of dropped TD passes & the failed PAT's and the score could have easily been 50-10. Boone's defense once again looked very, very good. The offense did a much better job of protecting the ball.
  15. Just went back and checked the film. 8 for 16, 71 Yds, 1 TD, 2 INT.
  16. Seems like he attempted more than 12 to me, but I wasn't counting.
  17. You can go and enjoy watching 50-0 games where teams can name their scores. I'll enjoy watching this Rebel team play a bunch of games that can go either way. This Rebel team can be something special and if you don't believe that ask any of the boys on the team. If they can reduce the number of turnovers (9 in 4 games, I believe), they can go far. Maybe I am too easily pleased, but a district championship is something special, a playoff win is special & anyone who doesn't think so is taking something that does not belong to them for granted.
  18. Score is right on. Knew Boone was in trouble when they were tied 7-7 at half. Should have been up 14-3. Defense was very impressive for first 2 and a half quarters. Picked Bir on 1st 2 drives of 2nd half and had a 14-7 lead w/ the ball in CCH's half of the field. Then things turned around. Boone threw Int on ball Schwartz was trying to throw away. 4-5 plays later the game was tied. Boone went 3 & out, actually losing yardage, and short punt gave cov cath the ball in boone territory. One 45-yard run later the score was 21-14. CCH's last TD came on a fumble return. Boone had a long TD drive, but did not recover the onside kick. The CCH O-line seemed to take over midway through the 3rd. This game was a coulda, woulda, shoulda for Boone & the score easily could have been flip-flopped. Thanks to both teams on a hard fought, close and very entertaining game.
  19. Boone is 3-0 despite turning the ball over at least 7 times in the first 3 games. They have beaten 3 teams they should have beaten. Are they the favorite? Dixie has played far more difficult competition. Ryle won't be the same w/o Elliot, however, every boy on that team will amp it up just a little more. They are not going to give up because one player is hurt. They have all worked too hard. I think it is still wide open and see no favorite just yet. Ryle, Boone & Dixie all have an equal shot. I'll be shocked if SK or CC is in the mix.
  20. Anyone have final numbers for Schwartz? He had 3 long TD's (one was a jailbreak screen pass). Cooper's D decided to sell out to stop the run and couldn't defend the quick pass to the sideline or the deep ball. Seems like they did do a decent job of stuffing the running game though. Boone's defense was stout again. First team, gave up a long TD on 4th and 15 and that was pretty much it.
  21. If I'm counting right that's 6 giveaway's for Boone in the first 2 games, yet they are 2-0. The defense has been very good & the offense much more diverse than what we are used to seeing. If by "Force" you mean in contention, then yes I think they will be among several in a wide open NKY 6A.
