AintFromRoundHereRU Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Anyone have final numbers for Schwartz? He had 3 long TD's (one was a jailbreak screen pass). Cooper's D decided to sell out to stop the run and couldn't defend the quick pass to the sideline or the deep ball. Seems like they did do a decent job of stuffing the running game though. Boone's defense was stout again. First team, gave up a long TD on 4th and 15 and that was pretty much it.
COOPJAG Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Cooper has some real talent out there . I think they need to get some kids that can catch the ball out on the field !! IMO Centers needs to be put back at tight end . Collins needs to stay at RB but on D move him to LB not S .

IMO Centers needs to be put back at tight end . Collins needs to stay at RB but on D move him to LB not S . Let's break this post down into two seperate parts.. 1. As for moving Centers to TE.. After viewing the game last night and seeing that Cooper went to a Spread style of offense it would make absoultely zero sense to move Centers to TE. Why might you ask? They didn't have a tight end in the game for a single snap last night. Centers is playing tackle which IMO makes a lot of sense. Why again might you ask? Well if you have watched Cooper at all this year, you have seen struggles from the O-Line. So you put the biggest, strongest kid on the line and see if he helps. Hmmmmm makes sense to me. 2. Now lets address moving Collins to LB. If I am correct, Cooper is playing a 4-2-5 defense. In that style of defense, your safety is what is known as an "alley player." The "alley" for those of you who don't know, is the area in open space where running backs tend to run. Your "alley player" aka your safety in the 4-2-5 defense is typically not only the guy who can tackle and attack the line the best, but is your best defender all together. From the two games I have seen Cooper play this year, Collins is their best ball player on defense. Makes sense to put him there. Now I am new to the site as you can see by the amount of posts I have but I have been reading and following Cooper since the schools opening as I know a lot of people who work for the school and have friends who's children play for the school. Basically though, I have seen your posts specifically and it seems ever week, win or lose, you have some sort of complaint. You paid your $20 and you are entitled to your opinion but to me, you have the credibility of UK#1 fan (no offense UK, you just love your team too much :thumb:). I would think if you had the name CoopJag you would support your team, not rip every single thing they do. Then again though, that's the problem with society these days, everything is about ME and their is no sense of TEAM.

There were oh i don't know 8 to 10 passes dropped in the game . Thats why I said IMO .... Centers has some of the best hands on the team . Does he do well at tackle im sure he does . IMO I stress again Centers would do the team better at TE .. Thats all I am saying don't take every thing so personal im not bashing the team at all . Just would like to see some kids moved around . I think the coaching staff is doing well with what they got to work with . I think some kids would do better at some different positions . I don't mean any disrespect to the team or any of the staff .

I don't mean any disrespect to the team or any of the staff . My point with Centers though is that if you move him to TE you are taking him off of the field. Cooper from what I saw at the game, did not use a TE. Not to mention if you do not have a line that can block, it doesn't matter how good your hands are. I'm sure you don't mean disrespect you are just voicing your opinion which is what this board is for. I am doing the same thing you are. I'm sure the coaches would love to have Centers out there playing TE because from what I've heard not only from you but from people in the community is that he is a good athlete. If this is what is best for the team, it is what has to be done. I'm sure in 10 years when Cooper gets the athletes out that the Boones, Conners, and Ryles are getting, kids like Centers will get to play TE.
COOPJAG Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Dont you think as for Collins goes he would do the team better at LB . From what I seen they need one . I have not seen the stats from the game but I did not see Collins on that many tackles . Would it be better to have Morris there at S . Again not trying to be negative at all . Also did not see Branch on the D side whats up with that ?
rememberthetitans Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 The juniors on this team were un-deated with a pee-wee coach (just sayin)

Collins did make quite a few tackles from the S spot from the 2 games I saw. Morris is a good safety but hasn't he had cramping issues? I know he didn't cramp against Boone but I thought I saw somewhere else he had been cramping a lot.

If I remember correctly Cooper played in the small school district. Let's not forget, Freshman ball is not varsity football. Two completely different worlds....
