Seems like worst case scenario, UK would lose a scholly in getting him and a stud if he ends up eligible. Not a bad deal if you ask me. I doubt he ends up at UK now, with this stuff coming up, though.

I have read nothing about this, but stocks like Apple sometimes issue dividends in a one-time or "special" fashion. I believe this excludes them from many institutional investing criteria.

If you guys are into value investing at all, I'm taking a very cool class on it right now. Some stocks we've looked into include Haliburton (HAL), Compass Minerals (CMP), Corning (GLW). Also, what sites do you use to trade? I just set up an E*Trade account recently for myself.

What gives the government the right to decide what is the right path for our energy future? Why not let markets work and just let it go? That statement includes giving special tax breaks to oil companies as well as ending the government funding of alternative energy. Privatization is the only answer to the future of our energy, in my opinion.

Absolutely. I agree with what you are saying about reconnecting and keeping in touch. That is one of the beauties of social networking. In response to what you said about egotistical posts, I feel that the demographic of my "friends" most likely plays into how annoyed I am with the majority of their posts. I stick by my point that Facebook is a creep's dream, and that is what turns me off most about it.

I am 21 years old, and I feel a lot of the time I was born in the wrong generation. I really hate social networking. I do. There is nothing more egotistical than thinking that someone cares what you're doing every second of every day, and that drives me crazy. There's nothing creepier than following someone at a distance without them being able to know it. I don't know. I just don't make Facebook statuses and hardly ever read other people's because I don't think people care what I'm doing (nor should they) and I certainly don't care if Romemary is "out with my girls getting D-R-U-N-K!" or "so0o0 stressed over finals!" I keep it around as an archive of sorts of old connections, which inherently is the real purpose of Facebook to me, as well as to successfully execute group projects, etc. Besides that, it drives me crazy. My rant is over now. :lol: Good luck keeping your children off of Facebook, DF. All I would tell you is that at a certain point in their lives, they'll get one anyway, and hopefully they use it for good, logical reasons. I'm sure they will :thumb:
