Final. Considering Augusta only had 14 in the first half, and well into the 3rd quarter actually, the final score looks somewhat respectable.

I dont know the circumstances, but one would think that would simply be a forfeit.

I believe they recently sent out an e-mail informing coaches of the fines if players leave the bench during an altercation. Im thinking its like $1,000. I also thought coaches were fined if they were ejected from a game.

It was a rough one though with a lot of fouls called!

Some of the bigger schools may pay their announcers, but I believe you are correct, most are volunteering their time.

The second game of a boy-girl double-header in Augusta on Thursday. Lady Panthers are 1-5, but have been playing well. Haven't heard a thing about Nicholas this year.

Augusta hosts Nicholas Thursday. If Augusta plays like they played the second half against Bracken, I say they win by at least 15.

Whiteman's and McCord's minutes lost due to foul trouble hurt the Lady Panthers I thought. But considering they were so close despite not having those two very much today was a positive.

Effort and playing hard is rarely a problem for the Lady Panthers. They are typically outsized though and don't have much of a bench.

One coach I talked to basically said the same thing. He doesn't take offense to a blowout (especially if theyre subbing and not pressing) and said he actually finds it more offensive when a coach tells his team not to score.
