The schedule for Tuesday:

 

Ashland vs. Madison Central - 4pm

Cooper vs. Simon Kenton - 5:30pm

Mason County vs. St. Pat - 7pm

Russell County vs. Pike County Central

 

It will continue Wednesday and Thursday, with the schedule based upon Tuesday's results.

Mike Murphy was the consumate "program man." He was a fixture at the table in the Fieldhouse for as long as we have been in the 10th Region, and was also the Royals' head baseball coach. He drove the team bus to many Royals' competitions.

 

I felt that his being inducted into the 10th Region Hall of Fame was very special for him. A man of few words, he was somewhat emotional that night (as emotional as Murph ever got) and was quite humble at being recognized for simply doing his job. He arrived a little tardy that night because he had been working on the baseball fields earlier, and left shortly following the event, because he still had some duties to perform.

 

I am extremely happy to see Mason County honor Murph's memory in this manner. He is one of the fine folks at Mason County that I will always associate with thier program and the Fieldhouse.

It's a nice way to honor one Mason's biggest supporters. I think Madison Central will win it but Mason will not go down easily.

There's not many better men on the planet than Murph. He was more than a supporter of MC sports, he was a supporter of the community as well. I'm glad I got to know Mike. Hopefully, I'm a better person because of it.

I wish I could have been in Maysville to honor the memory of Murph. I think there is a bit of Murph in each of us who knew him. Murph was a unique, totally unselfish man and his memory lives on. Have a great tourney and Merry Christmas
