Augusta vs. Grant County Predictions

Lady Panthers host Grant Co. Saturday. I've not heard anything about Grant County this year. Any insights?

Grant County has a good left handed post player. She is about 6' tall and has a decent shot. I don't think Augusta will have anyone who can guard her. Grant County has young guards, but I believe they will have the advantage in this game.

Grant County by 30+.

Coach Arnold will have her kids playing very hard. I would be surprised if Grant wins by more than 15.

Effort and playing hard is rarely a problem for the Lady Panthers. They are typically outsized though and don't have much of a bench.

That's Billie Hearn. She's a junior I think. What's interesting about her, is that up until middle school (I believe), she was a right handed player. But if I'm remembering correctly, she had an accident with a lawn mower, and actually lost a tip on one of her fingers on her right hand. And worried that the loss of the finger tip would affect her shooting...she basically taught herself to shoot lefthanded!!! In addition to having a decent shot, she's also isn't afraid to go get rebounds, and will block quite a few shots too.

As to Grant's guards...the senior, Stith(?) can handle the ball a lot. But its the freshman, Wright, who can be a threat offensively. It also looks like she's grown some from last year, and has a pretty good wingspan when she's guarding out front.

Grant's most consistent player has been Morgan McClure. She will give it 100% everytime she is on the floor.

Grant +15 Hearn is the real deal. She can play...not so sure about the rest of her team.

Far from a 30 pt. game.

Yep, I stand corrected. Good effort by the Panthers.
