Chad did a great job of calling the offense. I think he adjusted during the game very well to put them in the right position to win. Any chance he calls the offense for the Greendevils this coming season?

I believe Buckler had half of his yards after contact, the kid works hard and played very well.

Are we talking as fast as the 07 team that I belive went 8-3? Or is the speed like it had been since 07?

I was asking a question, I did not know Coach Shearers intentions I was just going by the track record you see from small school coaches. I believe you mis read my post about "no quaterback" I said I believe they cannot open up the offense, hence they have not been very accurate nor was they relied upon to throw to win. I agree they managed the game well and did what the coach asked of them. Coach Shearer by no means did i try to offend you nor question your motives as a man and a coach. If I disrespected you in any sense I apologize I was merely asking questions. I did not know much about you, after reading your post you seem to be a quality man. Your resume speaks for itself I wish you the best of luck and your experience as a teenager will benefit you dearly in a small community such as Bellevue I wish you and your family the best of luck!!!:thumb:

Yes, they have you are correct but im pretty sure if you look at each one they dont have five or more schools listed on there resume, which is exactly my point he was a college coach. You dont leave college to coach a 1A team that just lost almost twenty seniors and looks up to Beechwood every year, unless your not planning on staying long....... Look at Dayton Coach Lickert built them up leaves for Holmes, Dayton has one good year after that (8-3) now someting like 2-8 & 3-7.... IMO they should have hired someone either internally or very close to the program this is a stretch for them. Now let me say that they only way this isn't a "stepping stone" is if he doesnt win then he gets canned after a reasonable amount of time. As the offense goes they will run a power offense either veer or stay with what they have been running. IMO if he tries to open it up this will be a mistake, everyone knows Bellevue has the big boys up front and traditionally a very good running back but no quaterback. We shall see in less then a week, I would hope thats when Bellevue starts summer practice.

The hiring of Chad Montgomery, everyone in Dayton and Bellevue and if you know Chad you would have expected it. Probably would have gotten the job if they had an open teaching position. I know that Estill County runs a veer option/ wing t offense. Is he going to retain any of the assistant coaches from the Eckstien era? IMO if he doesnt it will hurt his chances of bonding quickly with his new team! Best of luck to him though Everyone knows the community of Bellevue is a very supportive group and that should benefit him in the best way possible.

Russell Shearer has been hired as the football coach at Bellevue, according to school athletic director Nick Wilson. Shearer previously was the defensive dacks coach and video coordinator for the University of the Cumberlands. He is a 1997 graduate of Estill County High School. This from Ryan Ernst blog. The question is why would they hire someone who has to take college courses this summer to coach? What would happen if he was to not pass those classes?

Wouldnt you think he is undersized to play LB in the Big Ten? Best of luck to him in his senior season! Anyone that goes D1 from NKY is a gain for the whole area, no matter the school they come from.

Could be because graduation is next week and they didn't want to worry about anything else who knows? It's kind of odd that they still havent announced the hiring, I know when Chad Montgomery was informed he would not be hired that they had made a selection. They have been pretty tight lipped in Bellevue for about three weeks, it seems they would have announced it then.

Do we know if the KHSSA made the move or did the coaches and AD's vote on the change?

I belive that teams are allowed to wear full pads July 28 and dead period ends July 12. So teams can attend 7 on 7 for three weeks. It can hurt your team depending on how many scrimmages you have, if your team has two then your first scrimmage would be on August 13 for the teams that only have one then it would be on the 20. Lets not forget also that some kids play summer baseball and the move also benefits them.

Ohio has over 1,000 High schools participating in football, same goes for Texas both states have a six class system. Florida has around 750 and have a five class system. We all know these are the best football states in the country, Just some numbers to think about when you try and decide how many classes we should have.

If you have a chance to watch a game this year you will see he is the leader of the team! Should be interesting to see how Greg Clemons plays along side Tommy, they should both free each other to make big plays. Tommy Courtney is big and powerful and Greg Clemons MIGHT be the fastest LB in NKY! IMO the coaching they have recieved in the past couple years has put them both in a postion to succeed.:thumb:

I dont see the program stuggling. Can we expect them to lose more games then last past couple years? Sure depending on the scheduele. I'm sure the kids still have the bitter taste of defeat and will work hard during the summer and come together as a TEAM and not rely on one or two players to win the game. IMO they are still one of the top teams in the ninth region.

From what im hearing the announcement should be coming next week. If not this will put a bind on the program unless they hire in house and dont change the offense and defense. Have they continued the weight program since Eckstein stepped down?

The coaches decide if they want to participate, the only team that comes to mind that hasn't participated the past couple years is Bellevue.
