What kind of hunting arrows do you use? I’m currently using the Beman “white box” arrows, and they’ve been fine, but I want to upgrade. At first I was thinking about getting the Easton FMJs, but there were reasons that gave me pause. The FMJs run about 12 GPI, and the current arrows I shoot are 9.3. I have had clean pass throughs on the 4 deer I’ve killed(and 1 I never found unfortunately). I feel like the increase in weight isn’t a trade off I need currently with my set up, and the loss of arrow speed scares me too. I am pretty much all but sold on the Cabelas Stalker Extreme. They’re the same weight as my current arrow, but have a straightness of .003 instead of .006. They’re more or less the same price as well. Additionally, I’ve shot the Stalker Extremes with feathers with my recurve and have liked them a lot. Anyways that’s what I’m thinking. What do you all shoot?

I ended up getting a Thompson Center Impact. It was legitimately the cheapest one at dicks. It pretty basic but I’ve had fun shooting it!

All in all, I’m happy with the season. I killed 3 deer, all with a bow. I met some of my goals like harvesting a buck with a bow and harvesting a deer on public land. I wanted to fill all 4 tags and harvest a deer with a recurve, but that’ll have to wait at least on more year.

What’s also encouraging, I was hunting a new spot at Taylorsville and had 6 deer come in, one being a buck I’d be really happy shooting. I’ll certainly be hitting that spot again next season.

Well I started the season with a kill on opening day, and ended with a kill on the last day. I’m really pumped because it was at Taylorsville lake, and one of my goals was to harvest a deer on public land. Unfortunately, I think my arrow hit a branch because the shot was way back. The deer took off like a bat out of hell, and after tracking for a bit in the evening, I went back the next morning. I recovered the deer after about 300 yards laying in a creek. I was seriously lucky there was snow on the ground or I don’t think I would have found it. The trail was specs of blood at times. It actually ended up being a button buck, but I’m still super happy with it.

Throttled them from the beginning. It’d be nice to crack the top 25 Monday.

To those who think expulsion should be off the table... CovCath’s sister school has expelled high schoolers for getting pregnant(which I have opinions about)...it’s 100% because of the optics. They want to hold students to a standard that doesn’t “embarrass” the school. If CovCath doesn’t expel these kids they’re being as soft as sin.

So the school has issued a statement stating that the students were in the wrong. Close the book on defending their actions, right?

I’m seeing some on social media defending the kid, saying he was approached yada yada he was standing there. Whatever. 1. He shouldn’t have put himself in a confrontational situation when you are marching for life. 2. Someone should have been level headed enough to pull them out of the situation. 3. Where the heck we’re the babysitters. They needed one. 4. Optics. They look bad and that’s all I’ll say about it. 5. Don’t tell me that kid wasn’t at the very least coming from a “I’m better than you” mentality. It’s written all over his smug face. 6. The administrators are hiding. The bishop is being a coward. I’m so embarrassed.

My biggest gripe with football has been that teams play 3 important games, and then 7 meaningless games when it comes to the playoffs. I’m happy that the schedule matters now.

Idk man I like to think we were better than 2-10 last year but our players looked like hot garbage. Where I’m sitting, I’m pretty pessimistic about our roster until they change my mind. I see 2 for sure wins, 2 for sure losses and a bunch that I wouldn’t be shocked either way.

Back in April I chaperoned a field trip to North Carolina. In the hotel lobby a couple bros took notice to my UofL hoodie, and felt the need to jab at UofL’s recent woes. They were all high and mighty and such, and thought I was crazy when I said something about how we are still going to be a competitive basketball team this year. They actually walked away with grins on their faces. I’d like to think that was the universe handing out some form of revenge lol

That makes me mad, and the same sort of situation happened to me and my pup a couple years ago. For a while, I was carrying one of my hunting knives with me on walks just in case it happened again. I’d rather kill your dog than have to take mine to get stitches.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Penn State kicking the field goal? I’m so torn. I’d have probably kicked too.

I spoke to a Penn State fan last week who was bummed about drawing Kentucky. Hubris will kill you. Way to go cats!

I have a Bear Cruzer that I like a lot. It’s in the cheap end, but it’s the only compound bow I’ve ever really shot. I find it to be pretty comfortable to draw and shoot. I also have a PSE 50 pound recurve, and a Cabela’s Warden 40 pound recurve. The 40 pound recurve is far and away my favorite bow to shoot at the range.

Yeah for sure more than UK, or at least it felt like. Seemed like we missed the front end a bunch. Still not as much as we probably needed.

One positive, I do think we did enough defensively to win the game.

That sucks. We needed to hit shots from 3 and get to the line. No dice. UK was clearly the better team.

Meh. Shots aren’t falling, they’re more athletic. This is the type of game I expected a few times this year.

Defensively, we’re playing the game we needed to. Offensively, we’ve been reaaaaaaaaal bad. I don’t think Dwayne Sutton has scored. McMahon is back in Florida chatting with dick vitale I think.

If it wasn’t for the beer and snacks I’d be having a really terrible time

We’re missing too many open shots. We’re going to lose by 15+ if we can’t figure things out. Also, VJ King. I love you because I truly believe you try really hard. But god bless...
