  1. Ahh... I see you and goahead feel very passionate about this situation and your making your comments heard. Interesting how that works?????
  2. Ok let me set the record straight. I hear what your saying I really do. I'm just tired of hearing people run down the Walton fans because they are passionate about their school and their basketball program. I know there are some over the top and some things are absurd. However we live in Kentucky if you think their won't be second guessing of basketball coaches then you haven't lived here very long. The same things were said about coaches staying away from Walton before Trame and Miller were hired. Good coaches want to go to schools where there is passion for the program, but passion brings out the best and the worst in parents and fans. That's just the way it is.
  3. I don't think I read anybody blaming anyone in this thread. Just simply asking how the process works.
  4. Congrats to the WV Ladycats on a Great Season!!! The program has been lifted to a new level at Walton. Kelli Dixon will be missed but both her and her teamates have a very bright future.
  5. Thanks for the correction madman. I wan't sure how that worked in the reigonals. Just for my own knowledge do you know what positions form this committee?
  6. I may be wrong but a lot of tournaments the Coach of the Winning team gets the choice.
  7. Your way off base on this one. I don't care who boxes out I care about who comes up with the ball. I would bet that Wainscott led Simon in rebounding this year (From the point guard spot). If your a big and you want the ball earn it!!!! If your a big and you are not rebounding for your team you ain't getting the ball unless you are wide open on the block. If I can't trust you to rebound I'm not trusting you with the ball.
  8. I agree the 8th has some really good talent this year, but from what I've seen I'm not sure any player is more valuable to her team than Gayheart. Your right she can dictate the game without scoring by her defense and her ability to create for her teamates. Very unselfish player to much so at times IMO. Owen has had a great year.
  9. Agreed good win for Walton and Shelby played very well. Also congrats to Tori/Chelsea/ and Haley on great careers. Congrats to Coach Wilhoit as well he got more out of that group of girls than many would have thought possible. Great job!!! Good luck to Walton Thursday night it's time to get past this hurdle.
  10. I agree Walton has a lot of interchangable weapons bit Dixon is the one weapon that can"t be replaced
  11. Just a correction I believe what your read was no other current Conner player but Fischer could start(not play) for another 9th region team.
  12. Im not sure I understand your last statement. I think Whitfield is a great player and a very hard worker and was for sure a contender for POY, but I dont' think Gayheart's goals were any less team oriented because she won the POY. I haven't seen any team stats in a while but I would guess she leads her team in scoring and assists and probably in the top 3 in rebounding. I would say that's a pretty good team player.
  13. I agree.. For now it's as Fish goes so goes Conner.
  14. Good Point. Here's the Top Five 1.Gayheart 2.Devine 3.Whitfield 4.Wainscott 5.Dixon
  15. Congratulations to Owen Counties Rianna Gayheart for being named 2010-11 8th Region Player of the Year. She is a great young lady and certainly is deserving of this honor!!!!!
  16. Congrats to Hannah. I believe she also won this award last year when Carroll won the NCKC conference.
  17. Whoa!! Hold up on that carwash gentlemen. Dixon is a beast! However if Sandlin and Judy were advertised as D1 earlier this year then someone has led you astray. While both are solid players at this point D1 is a big reach. I think Judy has the potential but next year will tell the story for her. All that aside Walton is solid as any team on the inside. The issue is the same one that I have been pointing out since the pre-season scrimmages. They do not have a true point guard and will struggle greatly against teams that have solid backcourts and they will normally beat teams that have mediocre (meaning ordinary) backcourts. They have a couple of great shooting guards but they do not have a solid ball handler to run the whole thing through. This will continue to plauge them as it did last year.
