  1. Good Point!! I couldn't agree more. I mean you could argue difficultly of schedule but when it comes down to it Owen is now 18-4 Walton is 17-7. IMO Walton is the more talented team from 2 thru 5 when you look at the starters. The reason I say 2 thru 5 is because IMO Gayheart is the best player on the floor in that game. So if you have more talent at 4 of the 5 spots on the floor and get beat that bad lack of preparation is the first thing that comes to mind.
  2. This was just a good old fashioned beat down!! I'm no genius but Walton averaged 9.5 points per quarter OUCH!! Owen seems to be pulling it together at the right time. I said it before when you have Gayheart you always have a chance to win. And from the stat lines I've seen latley all the starters seems to be picking it up. Congrats to Owen their drum seems to be beating louder each time out!!!
  3. I agree Walton did a good job last time of running a second defender at her when she brought the ball past half court. It looked like she felt like she had to get rid of the ball and when she did she usually didn't get it back because it was turned over or bad shot selection. If she decides to beat the pressure out front this time (which she can) instead of giving it up she could have a big night.
  4. Your operating under the assumption Ryle has been accused of having class at some point. Lower your expectations remember it's Ryle.
  5. Just remember what you've said. When she's there and Boone wins no excuses for Ryle.
  6. Way to go Fish!!!!! It has been a blessing to watch you develop as a player but even more impressive as a wonderful young lady.
  7. I like that you have now changed to your prediction is Walton & SK will come out of the district rather than stating it as fact as in your earlier post. I think Williamstown is capable of playing with SK and would not be surprised if they beat SK who is currently riding a 4 game losing streak.
  8. Allright a honest man I like that. We will leave it at that and see how it plays out.
  9. Thank you for making my point thats why Owen must be considered.
  10. Want to rethink that comment? When Gayheart is on your team you always have a chance to win. Hopefully you are no longer baffled.
  11. Got ya. I thought maybe your were saying they were playing selfish ball and I just didn't see it that way.
  12. She is doing fine. Played quite a bit in the final. And I agree with you Lunatic W-Towns defensive game plan was terrific and they executed. I just thought when it came down to winning time Gayheart backed off from her usual game.
  13. That's exactly what I was thinking. She seemed to be looking to pass a lot more than I thought she should have. She has to be that constant scoring threat in order for her teamates to have success. She seemed content to pass the ball and be done with it. Not putting anyone down just the facts without Gayheart playing her game Owen's not going to beat many teams.
  14. Wow hate to hear about the injuries for Gallatin. As far as Owen goes Gayheart is a Beast!!!!!!!
  15. I hear what your saying. But I would disagree there has been frequent W-V coaching turnover. Tom Luebbe had a long stint as the head coach and then (the mistake was made) then Coach Miller was hired and is at last check is still coaching at Walton. I will agree with you that some of the venom is sometimes a little over the top on the other hand if your a coach no matter what you do there is usually going to be pot shots directed your way and should be expected. I think the issue is where is the balance between passion and petty? Please don't misunderstand I don't disagree with everything your saying but as a fan or a supporter of something your passionate about sometimes tough love is required. This statement has nothing to do with the Walton program but mine mules also work hard but that doesn't make them good basketball coaches.
  16. I agree but I think for Walton it's a little more like if you play guards rather than if the guards play.
  17. Congrats to Rianna Gayheart who scored her 1000th point. She led Owen Co. with 26 points in route to a 60 to 45 win over Carroll.
  18. I agree with you Sarge but some of the same problems were very evident for Walton last year and were not fixed. So don't hold your breath.
  19. Great analysis!! I think your right on. Walton improved when Taulbee was handling the ball out front and she had some very nice feeds to the bigs. She also can get north south off the dribble which I thought helped the bigs because of the help defense she drew. If Walton goes back to the same East West offense then I think even though they are probably more talented overall Simon's guards will eat them up in the half court defense and it may be tough for Walton to overcome. Just a opinion.
  20. I agree on this one. I thought Walton looked very good and looked like a different team when Taulbee was out front. I haven't seen much of the Judy girl in the past but she is a player. Dixon has been solid everytime I have seen her also. With Judy and Dixon inside and the luxury of having Sandlin as a adequate sub for either one of them Walton is deeper than I thought.
