You are correct about that with Pike. DeMatteo, the backup qb was injured. Still hr should have took a knee. I know that the starting defense was pulled early in the third, and the starting offense at the end of the third. Cohorn, Leonard, Bruns were pulled two mins. into the third.

No, but I do know him. Goose and my son played baseball together a few years ago. Pretty good team back then. Hatton, Higtchew, Teegarden, Fardo, Charlie Reekers, Chase Stanely, just to name a few. Goose has done well for himself. Hard worker in the classroom as well as on the field. I heard Hanover and Wofford or Wolford College was at Dixie last week to see him.

Dixie should be ok the first game with Goose at QB. But, I must admit, that not having Pike's ability to pull it down and run with it does hamper them somewhat. And, you take away Cohorn at WR. Dixie could definately use Peterson for Cohorn to throw to that game. Look for Dixie to run Bruns and Justice alot. And Cohorn.

I talked to Goose's dad and coach Spritzky at Zeke's conference last week. Not only UK, UL, and Perdue showing interest, EKU, William and Mary, Columbia, Morehead State, Murray State, and some others have shown interest. Perdue and EKU are on him pretty heavy. He evidently has a real high GPA from what I hear. He is constantly training, not just on the field, but also in the weight room and with a reciever from UC that played with Grutza. He has excellent hands, as strong as he is he has no problem getting free off the line. In these national 7 0n 7 competitions, the cornerbacks are up on the line jamming. He has that ability to get free and get open. The top corner in the 2011 class, DeAnthon Thomas out of Crenshaw High was constantly getting beat by Cohorn at the nationals in Alabama last year. And I'm hearing Josh Harris couldn't stop him up in Pittsburgh a few weeks back. No disrespect to Josh or Thomas, who repectively have signed to play at UK, and Thomas, who was the no.5 recruit overall headed on to play at USC. Cohorn has increased his speed from last year, he could play D1 IMO.

I know that Vinnie Miller is in Pittsburgh this weekend playing in the New Level Athletics 7 on 7 tournament. He is playing on the Midwest Region team with Pike, Cohorn, and Peterson. I know it's a 3 day national qualifier tournament sponsored by Scout and New Level.

They way it works for the army game is you have to be selected to play, which pike was. He was selected for both the US Army game and the Under Armour game but similar to college you must sign a letter of intent and commit to the game. I know Pike has signed that letter and will be playing in the US Army game next year. The army game is Rivals affiliated and the Under Armour is ESPN affiliated. Can't wait to watch these 2012 prospects in Pike, Towels, D. Bruns, Elliot, and Cohorn in NKY this season should be filled with excitement and great ball games.

Desean now lives in district and has moved and enrolled at Dixie and is attending school and will be playing football this season! Put this thread to rest! KHSAA will rule him eligable and he will be playing for Dixie.

Neither did the Bruns boys two ago when they transfered to Highlands at first. Everyone knew that situation.

With Goose Cohorn and Desean Peterson catching balls for Pike this season Dixie could be putting up big numbers on offense this year. Those two were already the top 2 recievers returning this year IMO. Now they're playing on the same team together?

First things first. Pike was Given an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that was on Handlon there OT and when he received his only true penalty it was labeled his second by misunderstanding! If Towles was better why did Pike throw for 300yds and 3 tds along with 2 rushing tds against highlands? Is that not head to head comparison with probally less talent around him. I think there both exceptional high school quarterbacks but there's no question Pike is better and I think that has to do with mechanics, size, arm strength, decision making, and footwork. There both going to be successful colegic players!

SK's past athletic director "Big Joe" Stark was on that team also. He passed away years ago. What a great man.

Not only against eachother, but also during the summer playing AAU together. Perfect example is Trevan Brown fron Boone and Pike from Dixie. They know eachother's game so it's all in a competative nature. Hightchew, Hatton, and Cohorn played select baseball with eachother for five years together years back. Those guys are friends and it showed after the game with them three talking together. No harm meant by it. Brady is no different than any other kid out there, maybe just a little louder. Fine young man in my book.

As i predicted at the start of this tournamen, Dixie's deep bench could be the difference. And tonight it showed. Great job today Dixie. Great job also to New Cath today. These two teams DEFINATELY left it all on the floor tonight. Unbelievable game! Good luck Red Colonels next Wed. night at Rupp!
