  1. Kinmon lives within walking distance of the WV High School and he really adds something special to the team. He can score 25 on any given night, but most importantly he can score 6 points and still help you win. He has always made players around him better and seems to have a calming effect on players around him. He has never had talent on the floor with him like he will have this year. Good luck to the Bearcats.
  2. You have something against him? Or maybe against a member of his family? You stick a jab at him whenever you can. I find it comical, you're probably an older man always insulting a 17 year old. You must feel proud. I wish the Braves luck. I played with those guys and you probably know who I am. He was the best player when I was a senior and he was just a sophomore. He makes everyone around him better. They will miss him. I encourage you to keep bashing him. He is the type of player that gains from it.
  3. I am a former player from Grant County. I was recently looking at their schedule and noticed that they are playing 19 'A' schools. I was surprised at this. I have only been gone for 2 years but didn't think nor have I heard of Grant County lowering their school size. Maybe I am off base paralleling them playing that many 'A' schools and their own school size. I remember my senior year we played numerous 'A' schools but never 19. I don't really speak to anyone that attends that school much anymore considering I live out of state. If anyone can clarify, it would be appreciated.
  4. :ohbrother: What does me realizing that both are tarnished have to do with this thread?
  5. I think, to no surprise, you have missed the point of the comment.
  6. :ohbrother: No. I never said that. Where, in any of what I previously said, do you get that assumption? He can still see his friends as much because Walton is 2 exits away from Dry Ridge. Considering that is common knowledge, I didn't feel the need to expand on it. Why are you so worried about this? For someone who says it won't be a blow to GC, you sure are uptight about knowing all the facts regarding Jalen. He wants to play ball and have a better education.
  7. I agree with you. However, if Jalen stayed at GC, that short high school athletic career you mentioned would of been cut by about a year. Jalen also sees his friends about as much as he did before so there isn't to much of a change folks. I think we all agree that we want what is best for the student and athlete. In his case, he gains academically and athletically.
  8. You seem to have a rare perspective on the issue. Please, enlighten us.
  9. So you are telling me that Grant Co-essentially the same team as last year minus Kinmon- has as high as a chance to beat WV-which is basically the same team as last year with Kinmon transferring- in the upcoming season? I hope the Braves do good, but I just don't see the logic. I think the 8th region is going to have an exciting year.
  10. Agreed. They have others that are good in various aspects of the game but none that are as well rounded as Jalen.
  11. Much appreciated. Does WV have the overall height advantage in the 8th?
  12. I would say anyone who leaves Grant County will hurt them. About 3 seasons years ago they had quite a few guards, one of the top guards left and Grant ended up falling way short of their potential. They had a 5+ players left that were over 6'2. I'm sure people thought they could still get over that hump, but losing a top player may not be a devastating blow, but it may be just enough.
  13. No. I wasn't going to mention it. I was trying to see who he would be playing with. I knew of McNeil and Hargett but I didn't know of anyone else. :idunno: I'm sure the coaches didn't like that he went to WV and then came back so I'm not sure how that would of played out. Too bad. He was their best player. Anyone will greatly benefit with Kinmon on the floor. He is a smart ball player, handles the ball great and can shoot the ball on any given night.
  14. He is still one of the best in the region. Who else does WV have this year?
  15. I don't need to explain myself to you, however he doesn't need to focus so much on Grant County and insulting them every thread. He wants to focus on their "hack attack" defense. Apparently it was good enough to beat WV. That is all. This is also in regards to previous posts/threads. I have yet to insult WV. I just said whatever tactic GC used was good enough to beat them. madman knows what I am talking about. Thank you for caring however. Good luck to both teams in the district! Go Braves!
  16. Was that the same tactic that beat WV......?
  17. I agree with you, but it seems when Kinmon has a good game scoring double digits, they win. Not always, but they do win. When he scores low, it seems they lose. Just from what I have saw.
  18. And constant insulting the coaches or the way the Braves play every single time you post does no good either.
  19. I'm pretty sure they are one of the top defensive teams in the region right now point wise. Maybe Hicks knows what he is doing? They don't have extreme talent so playing extreme hard defense doesn't always look pretty. The kids play hard on the defensive end and they have improved dramatically on that subject since last year. Congrats to the Braves and coach Hicks.
  20. I agree with you. That's what I was getting at. I was saying that I am sure WV fans said stuff about it. Sportsfan asked to give an example and I did.
