Pendleton County 67 Grant County 57

Final from Falmouth. Pendleton County beats a scrappy Grant County team that just wouldn't go away.

Mason Monroe leads Pendleton County with 25 points. Aaron Bonar chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds, and an impressive dunk over three Grant County defenders that sent the crowd into a frenzy at the Woodshed.

Sounds like it was a fun game to watch!

Seen where the Blackburn kid did not score at all and Kinmon only had 6, from looking at box scores one of these two players has got to get 15 to 20 for Grant to beat a good team.

Did anyone from PC get hurt? Grant has been pretty rough on opponents this year.

Blackburn & Hurley were both out for the game. Can't speak for Kinmon only having 6 points, maybe just an off night which GC can't afford.

Possibly one of hte best officiated games I've seen in a long time. Did they miss some calls? I'm sure they probably did but neither team can say that the outcome had anything to do with the officials. Hats off to the refs in this one, wish more games were called this well.

How good is Monroe? Have heard good things about him.

He is the catalyst of this team. He never loses his cool, and is unphased by defenses that are focused almost solely on stopping him. He started the year slow, but has scored 20 or more points in 8 of the last 9 games I believe. He's only a sophomore as well.

Aaron Bonar also had a breakaway chance to dunk the ball big-time with 40 seconds left in the game that would have definitely brought the house down but showed great sportsmanship and pulled the ball back out at the free throw line being up 8 or 9. Grant County finally fouled him after the ball was passed around a few times and he went to the line and calmly sank both free throws.

Just curious how many kids in that situation would have dunked the ball?

Sounds like he should have dunked it and brought the house down since they fouled him a few seconds later.

They Grant County were just trying to stop the clock and preserve the time.

I swear I've been looking for those 3 players he dunked over on video and I just cant find them! He did have a nice dunk, but lets not be over dramatic.

You are right! He tried to do it with about 3 seconds on the clock. Classy move. The foul wasn't really hard enough for such "GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP"

Way to go Mason ! Sounds like the sophomore veteran is starting to put the Wildcats on his back. Good luck in the Districts.

From where I was sitting the foul with three seconds was to prevent a layup when pendleton was up by eight. The dunk was a nice dunk earlier in game but not over three players. Grant really missed Blackburn and Hurley.
