  1. I've seen Greenup's Varsity at the grid and at the Raceland 7-on-7, they are getting better. The streak will end. Their JV and Freshman have some potential too. I think it is WAY too early to be thinking about giving up football. For the "alumni" that are considering that, you should be ashamed. How would you feel if you were a current player and the community was ready to fold up camp and get rid of football? If you are a true fan of your school and have any pride whatsoever, you will want to help bring it back to what it once was, not eliminate it altogether. I'm went to HS in Kentucky for 2 years, at a school that didn't even have football, but for the school I'm coaching at, I have nothing but pride for our program, our kids and our community. I didn't even go to school at Lewis County, but I want to do everything I can to make it better! You should share the same desire. Coach Mullins, GC players...keep your head up and keep working hard...it will get better! This Lewis County coach isn't giving up on you!

  5. Coach Weedman will have his guys ready to play. They play hard and have some talented players. I think they will put up some big points this week. Carroll by 20!
  6. Should be clay co. instead of Knox co. If it is fixable, great...if not, can't fix stupid!

  8. Game of missed opportunities for both sides, but they both played hard as well. Tough one to lose, but if you're going to lose, it's better to lose to a good coach and a class act. Coach Weedman always gets the most from his players. Bud Burriss had a heck of a game for the Lions and Urian Darling ran hard. Lewis goes to Bath Co this week. Coach Fields is another classy guy, but we still want to beat the wildcats. Roll Pride!

  11. It seems like every year people question Russell...people say Coach McGlone has gotten too old to coach "today's game"...How often in his tenure have the Red Devils had to rebuild? I think the word people should use is reload. Deep, rich tradition...excellent coaching, and good athletes...that is what you can expect from Russell. Coach is a class-act, and his teams always play hard. The only question I have about Russell is what are we going to need to do to beat them this year...
  12. As Coach Turner explained on the listserv, he is staying at Morgan Co. His reasons for looking elsewhere had nothing to do with the devistating blow the Tornado handed the program, but everything to do with family. After prayer and thought, he has decided to stay. Right now the last thing Morgan County needs is people questioning the stability of the program. Literally, the program consists of the coaches and kids and the pride that the community has in their team. They have next to nothing in terms of equipment, so instead we should be helping out in any way we can.
  13. That's the right attitude!!! Here is an example of a true fan!
  14. Standing right behind goal post...the second XP looked like it could have been called either way...the other kicks, not as close as they probably looked like from the stands...oh, and yeah, a heck of a block!!
  15. I have nothing but respect for Coach Haywood...and Belfry is an excellent football team...but since some of their fans are complaining about seating, I'm going with Garrard 22-20...Wouldn't it be something if every school had the funds to have facilities like they do at Belfry!!!
  16. Granted we didn't play well at all, Powell County bested us twice this year...nothing flashy, just good hard football. I also spent some time at Powell County a few years ago...call it sentimental, but Go Pirates. Powell 36-32
  17. Belfry's tough schedule gives them the edge. Both teams have been spectacular this season. Good game indeed. Belfry 26-20
  18. Ashland has a very good defense, and an offense capable of putting points on the board. Their strength is definitely their D!
  19. I've only seen film on Garrard, so it is tough for me to speculate on just how good they are, but I have seen Russell, and when they are on, they are tough to beat. Definitely two different styles of football, but I have Russell in a close one... Russell 28 Garrard 26
  20. This is very true. Their offense is not even close to being the same if he isn't at his best. Good luck to both teams...gotta pull for the underdog in this one. NC 22 Fairview 21
