  1. LOL. After he hit the controversial shot against J-Town, I smacked him on the chest and said "See what can happen when your not drifting on the perimeter". Great kid, great family. He'll get it together. He won't turn 16 until July - young sophomore.
  2. Brandon is getting it done. Shake the haters off!!!!!!!!
  3. Eastern beat Bullitt east by 20+ but Derrick Willis made his mark. The 6-9 Soph ran PG 33% of the time making great decisions, knocked down threes, blocked shots, and gave Butler commit Kameron Woods the blues in the paint. This kid will be the top prospect in KY for the 2013 class. Needs to add some weight but he has time and is still growing. Wouldn't be surprised to see him top at out 6-10 - 6-11 with the skills of a SF. Major D-1 prospect that is sliding under the recruiting radar.
  4. Remy Abell and Lyonell Gaines were too much for Ballard to deal with. Devante Parker dropped 28 but Eastern's maturity was too much for Ballard's youth after that. The biggest difference in the game was that Kameron Woods got into foul trouble which allowed Eastern Jr 6-3 Jr Percy Blade into the game which was actually a better matchup with Ballard's athleticism. Blade had around 11-13 points including at 3-ptr at the buzzer in the end of the 3rd qtr that put Eastern up by 10. Blade made some big time plays. He's a player to keep an eye on next season. Blade is playing behind 6 seniors so he's one of "The best players you've never heard of." - Love that line 7th region is a MoFo!
  5. No way that Eastern is #1. They only beat Jtown by 8 and Jtown is missing three starters. Warren Central has no business at #3 and Trinity (10-5????)definitely doesn't deserve to be #7. My top 5 would be.... Jtown Eastern Clark County Ballard Scott County (Only two losses are to Ballard and Clark County)
  6. Martez Harris was a killer and Devante Parker sat most of the 1st half as well as some of the 4th qtr with foul trouble. Seneca took advantage and Logan Davis knocked down 2 big threes in the last couple of minutes after Ballard took a 1 pt lead with 3 minutes to play. Heres the write-up and box score...... Box Score Box Score 1 2 3 4 FINAL Ballard High School (14 - 1 - 0) 19 18 25 25 87 Seneca High School (8 - 2 - 0) 21 24 23 22 90 Game Summary T1: Ballard (15-1) - Martin 9, Snider 23, Parker 16, Holland 14, Yackey 3, Parrish 5, Lewis 9, Biggers 5, Hardin 3. Sat Jan 8, 2011 12:00 AM Late 3s launch Seneca's upset of No. 3 Ballard Add Seneca High School to the list of powerful boys' basketball teams in the Seventh Region. The unranked Redhawks upset previously unbeaten Ballard 90-87 Friday night to join the Bruins, Jeffersontown and Eastern as region contenders. "That's the best game we've played in my three years here," Seneca assistant coach Demetrius Pearson said, adding that the victory was a critical one in the 27th District race. Martez Harris scored 26 points, Logan Davis 25 and Kevin Shaw 20 as the host Redhawks (11-4) won a see-saw battle in the fourth quarter for their sixth straight victory. The key player was Davis, a 6-foot-4 senior who hit three of his five three-point baskets in the period to keep the Bruins (15-1) at bay. Ballard, No. 3 in The Courier-Journal Litkenhous Ratings, was led by freshman Quentin Snider with 23 points.
  7. 6th and 7th region only. They used to have teams from all over but recently made it a Louisville only tournament.
  8. January 10-15 at Bellarmine University in Louisville.
  9. Eastern and Jtown will have to meet in Semi's. 1 - Ballard 2 - Eastern 3 - J-Town 4 - Trinity 5 - Moore 6 - Bullitt East 7 - Iroquois 8 - Male T9 - Manual T9 - Seneca 11 - Western 12 - Fern Creek 13 - St X 14 - PRP 15 - Butler 16 - Central 17 - Desales 18 - Fairdale 19 - Christian Academy 20 - Doss
  10. You're always going to have "The Usual Suspects" - Hatton, Snider, Davis, and Martin. You also have to include Trey Grundy and Jordan Green from Lex Henry Clay along with Christian Cunningham from Scott County. Others that are flying under the radar a bit in the Louisville area would be D'Angelo Russell from Central, Antonio McDaniels from PRP, and a sleeper would be Robert Shaw of St. X, the younger brother of Seneca's Kevin Shaw.

  14. Jtown was dominant so I can't take anything from them, but Pearl is not a very good team. Still Jtown has a strong inside game and some good outside shooters (Russell, Hagan, Dorsey, and DeMichael Jackson). They are going to be very hard to beat. Daniel Ross (PF) was impressive early. 6-3 around 240 and has great footwork. Had around 10-12 points. Zack Price dominated inside. Will wait for him to play someone his size like Kameron Woods (Eastern 6-9) or Deondre Mcwhorter (Moore 6-9) before I can really say how good he is. Closest player to Price' size from Pearl was probably 6-5. Kimbro is really strong but scored most of his points on fast breaks and inside bank shots. I want to see him score some mid range and outside shots. I've seen him do it on TV for his prep school last year, but so far he hasn't had any real competition where he has had to show different facets of his game since being back in Louisville. He has been a man among boys since returning. I'm anxoius to watch them play the California team tommorrow. Should be a much better matchup.

  19. I think his rankings are terrible but you make a good point. Touche.
  20. I love Quan's game because he is such a hawk on defense. 12 points is a great start for him because I've always thought that his defense was ahead of his offense. Great kid! Isn't he a freshman?
  21. Bullitt East has 3 really good sophomores in 6-8 Derrick Willis, 6-3 Rusty Troutman, and PG Trey Rakes. Nice group to grow with.
  22. Kory Cornlieus, Tae Shawn Gibbs, and Ace Wales are the main ones still playing football. Stuart Jackson, D'Angelo Russell, Des Brown, Isahia Jones, and Dominque Chandler are all playing basketball only.
