What are the starting and ending dates for the "dead period" for July without organized activity?

As far as I have seen that hasn't been listed yet.

Coach Buchanan was a great hire for Mercer. Believe me the Mercer /Taylor game will be a war. Dudley doesn't do anything fancy,just wins.

Good schedule. Should be a fun season to watch. With Chuck having these kids for the second year will make a big impact.

There is a procedure that has to be followed with a hire. There has to be final board approval. That is when the announcement can be made.

More fun years ahead for Boyle fans. A lot of young talent and good coaching.

I think Boyle has a new offensive coordinator on board now. Not a real surprise. It should be a real improvement for the offense. Hopefully it will be announced right away.

Boyle looks like their 7th, 8th, and 9th grade classes are all very good and with the numbers improving. Chuck Smith does a great job going into the elementary schools creating interest in the football program and as a result having the numbers you need for a successful program.

If Hagen is happy with his decision, that is what matters the most. Too many times these kids are pressured into situations by everyone else that think they know what is best for the athlete. He is going to be close to home where family and friends can see him play in a good program and a competitive league. I respect him for making that decision.

Highlands was using the platoon system as long as I have been watching them in the playoffs. They have always had the numbers to be able to do that. At Boyle you play with what you have at the time and hope for the best concerning injuries. I do hope Robins can get some rest this year on defense in one sided games. When he is your best all around athlete you have to have him on the field in critical situations. As far as the Boyle teams in the early 2000's they would not only compete now, but would still be winning big time.

Chuck Smith and Boyle co. won five straight championships and a runner-up. He played his QB on defense in each of those years. Just think how good they could have been if he had known not to play the QB who was usually his best or one of his best players on defense.

Don't try to make more out of this situation right now. As Jack Lambert said"Time will tell". You can bet it won't be the same offense that Mason ran. Just be happy we have a change and whether it is Pardue or James calling the plays,we should be in good hands.

With all that being said Chris Pardue is not on the coaching staff at Boyle. Whether he will be in the future remains to be seen.

I think you will find that the QB camp was scheduled at Boyle because of the turf field. This camp was scheduled way before Pardue resigned at Mercer. I wouldn't read more into it than these facts.

Yes, I am sure. You have to have openings for teaching positions. Who knows what may happen .down the road. Boyle has spring practice scheduled for mid April. Any new coaches would be in place and announced if there had been a hire. There has not been a hire.

I am not sure why you mentioned Pardue. He is not the OC.

You made some good points about Robins. I do think that he will get some rest on the defensive side of the ball in easier games especially. Hopefully he won't have to run to the sidelines as often this year with a new offensive coordinator.

2nd year back under Chuck Smith. Don't bet against the Rebels this year. Josiah Robins great athlete in three sports. Look for the defense to be even better. Offense has to improve with new offensive coordinator whoever he is.

I think most people are overlooking Danville. They will be able to play with anyone in the region next year. Boyle will be a good solid team, but in no way can they replace the seniors they will lose. I see Garrard being better, especially if they were to move Crutchfield inside where he can be a real force. Lincoln, solid always but not a contender next year.

1st & Goal is like many programs that have a good class or two and want to pick and choose when they play other teams. When they are down and or average you never hear from them. I also know for a fact Boyle did not have an opening for the 5th game of the season. Why would they want to trade Lincoln for Pulaski anyway? I think Trinity is looking for an in state game. Pulaski shoud call them.
