  1. I thought Elder was big and fast. Wow! Big, fast and strong. Bringing guys down with one arm. They hit our receivers hard. Conner Hunley is the strongest running back I've seen since Shaun Alexander. Not as fast but just as strong. Trinity played very tough on D. Moved the ball on offense. St. X D was so stingy inside the 30. Trinity receivers just couldn't get loose. Trinity gained a lot of experience tonight. This game will serve them well.
  2. I think the key is can Trinity stop the Bombers run game. If not and they score possession after possession Trinity is in big trouble. St. X defense is very stingy and I don't see Trinity putting up 30 or more against them.
  3. I am sure I read somewhere (maybe their site last year) that Lawrence North has over 2000 students.
  4. I thought Elder was as good as I have ever seen them. They are huge up front on both sides of the ball. They kept Quick from really breaking anything big. They had zero penalties and turnovers. Regardless of how they have played so far, they played well last night. Trinity is very young and make mistakes new varsity players make. They are getting better each game but inexperience is inexperience. Trinity's best weapon is on the sidelines calling the offensive plays.
  5. Exactly what happened vs Elder. How many passes did they complete after the qb was flushed or pressured? A lot.
  6. Geez, I am still celebrating the Elder win and now I have to think about Cincinnati St. X. See this thread on Wednesday.
  7. Officially he is a wr but gets several chances to run the ball with sweeps and screens.
  8. Derek Bishop is just as important as Quick. He makes a lot of big plays.
  9. Quick gets his share of the ball but there is a lot of talent out there. This not just a James Quick team by any means. He gets less than half the touches Collinsworth for Highlands got per game last year.
  10. They ran it and passed it for big yards against a ranked team.
  11. Has Jivin' Ivan run his course or is it just a down year?
  12. If you saw Cincy St. X on ESPN last week, you know how great they are on both sides of the ball.
  13. Elder had no penalties or turnovers. They have two huge receivers. Key play for them was when they converted a 4th and 17 with Hatcher pulling down the qb. They will get theirs this season. Next week for Trinity, even tougher.
  14. Taking Quick out of the last play was genius by Beatty. The whole Elder defense was keyed on him. Lining him up next to Wright and then throwing a pop pass short of the endzone. Gutsy yet smart.
  15. If Larry doesn't pick Elder, Trinity is doomed.
  16. If more schools make more money because of expanded playoffs the KHSAA will say it is a success. I think we have two too many classes.
  17. Agreed but there was a lot of students and they did a nice job. Trinity brought an army which was nice. Still would like to see more of the students though.
  18. One thing I forgot to mention, the Manual students were great tonight. When they were down 28-0 they were still cheering and in great voice. Very impressive. More schools should take note.
  19. Lloyd please re-examine the schedule.
  20. Trinity was not clicking on either side of the ball after the first two possessions. Many open Manual receivers. They did drop a lot of passes. I should correct my opening statement a little. Trinity was operating pretty well between the 20's but got bogged down several times in the red zone. They could have had another 3 td's. Defense pretty solid against the run but still need work defending the pass. Pressure on the qb still not quite there. I think they will be more focused for next week's titanic opponent.
