I think sometimes people hear things and repeat things and all of a sudden that becomes who you are and in reality there might be a slight grain of truth but unfortunately you have been branded. I have seen this happen on more than one occasion with coaches (actually have seen it happen twice at Brossart) and knowing these guys personally I can attest that these guys have been unfairly labeled. However.......in the coaching circles the more something is repeated the more it becomes fact (even though it is untrue or barely true!!!).......

One of the other issues was the inability to keep a specific date on the calendar. I noticed that 6 or 7 years ago they changed weekends then changed back a few years ago. Why the changing of the date 6 or 7 years ago to conflict with a major meet (Ryle Relays) really hurt.

I understand that non participating schools receiving revenue is really not a top priority however it is a nice luxury that the 10th had provided for many years.

Look I hate to see transfers in HS for athletic purposes. Lets face it.....it is part of the culture and Mexitucky is correct success breeds success. However in Northern Ky. I think people would be shocked at the amount of transfers (for whatever reason) are on rosters in all three major sports seasons. Sitting at my desk I can count without much thought 5 baseball players who start on Top 10 teams who transferred from one high school to another. Many in or right after their freshman season.

From the article in today's paper AD Terry Connor said they had over 117 applicants.

The track was just resurfaced this past spring or summer was it not? I realize that it had gone from being one of the biggest events in the state to a small meet.....but what a tradition.

Jimmyjr. This might be the first time we agree but yes Bluegrass (compared to several other organizations) is an ok organization and not anywhere near great. My opinion: Hunter Jones will end up with a DI scholarship.

Jimmy Jr you should really read carefully I said CovCath did not play Silver Grove. So.... your points are more dead issues. I have read your opinions in other threads (Hunter Jones in particular) and it is obvious you need to do more research before making blanket statements. I have been to all Highlands games this year and none of them had even remotely a decent crowd.

One of the things about baseball when watching a player (more than any onther sport) unless they are pitching in the 90's when we think of D1 we think of domination of a game much like a football or basketball player. In any given game you might see 2 good pitches to hit and get no chances in the field.

Highlands needs to go outside the program......

However.....my opinion is that they would not consider these games great wins or nice wins rather games that they should win.

Listen I have been to every Highlands game this year and as far as coaching yes excellent and will make the program better. Fans? There might have been 15 people at the Calvary game and less at the Silver Grove game. Did I say they were not dangerous. They have 2 starting pitchers that can compete with anybody. And the varsity played the games the JV's were someplace else.

What research needs to be done? I do not see Covcath playing Silver Grove. I know Highlands is struggling to hit. I know they have lost to the 3 "big schools" they played and have beaten three very small schools (one on a walk off home run although Bellevue has a nice team). So....my opinion is that Highlands I thought might be a strong team but what I have seen so far leads me to believe they have 2 strong starting pitchers and not much hitting. Therefore translating into not being where I thought they might be. Now that can change if they start hitting. However......I also assume I have your permission to develop this educated opinion.

Awesome with a dancing banana? I just assumed that a baseball program at Highlands would be above considering those awesome..........Guess the baseball program is not where I thought it was.

Villa has a great coach that will definitely be able to build the program.

Wow.....if that is the case then shame on the 10th region for the following reasons. First they have cost the participating teams money. Second they cost the non participating teams money. Third why play "2nd fiddle" to the 9th region championship game? Meaning why should the 10th region play a 6:00 championship......

Cousins would be a good fit anywhere....well maybe not Harvard, Princeton, or Yale....but you get my point.

If wins over Calvary and SG (no offense to two very small schools) are nice wins for the Birds.......what does the rest of the season hold when they play schools there size??????

JBCousins is 100% on the mark. If certain administrators would keep their word instead of reneging on deals either Minor or Wolfzorn would still be the head coach.

All I know is they need to at least start setting up interviews. The guys I was talking to tonight said it was the old Brossart coach who has had some conversations. Must have been before my time did not recognize the name. Regardless the school needs to at least make some movement.

According to the reports on 1530 if he makes the Astros major league roster then the list is a better list than if he is assigned to the minors.

Mike Flynn would be an awesome choice.....I believe he is a principal at the learning academy so he might be able to be pursuaded out of that administration job.
