This will hurt the program. He did a great job considering the mess that was left him in the basketball program when he took over. Unfortunately with the salary structure that Thomas More has for a head coach this is tough to get high quality that will stay.

Oh I agree 100%. I am a huge Ray Kues fan and that is why I asked. I was concerned that he would end up back and Brossart. Or that because they now had a teacher or somebody in the SG community that they would make a change. Glad to hear it!!!!

It is embarrassing and according to the coaches were told they were coming back in the case of Minor and Wolfzorn and then let go. Obviously I am not privy to why this happened but when you are told one thing and the opposite happens and then coaches continue to leave and/or are being released there has to be a higher issue. Wolfzorn Minor and Listerman all had very successful seasons.

This is a significant year for the Mustangs. They need to show some improvements so that the program will continue to move forward.

Cal might be the elite of the elite when it comes to recruiting. Lets face it this past year he out recruited everyone..........

This early in the season you are lucky to get good weather.......Cancelling a game is not cool.

Does anybody have a clue what is going on? Is Coach Kues coming back? Or did he get a bigger job? I have heard two names one a teacher and one a community member who I am hearing are wanted as coaches but have not heard what is going on with the hall of fame Coach Kues.........

Close game...........Highlands hitting looks really anemic right now. But it is early so hopefully they can break out. You have to expect nothing less from a Rob Sanders team but grit and determination.

Dan Sullivan would be a great choice. Highlands needs to get a top line coach. They cannot do the retreads of Vories, Herald, etc. What about Wolfzorn who built the girls Bracken program from the basement and then had a great year at Bellevue. Isn't he a Highlands grad?

Porter does graduate but he has talked about getting his master's. While this is exciting I also feel you cannot run people off that have put that much effort and put up with Gillespie.

All I know is the same people who are ripping Gillespie's recruits are many of the same people touting them as great a few months back.

Any more news? I heard (not sure of the name) that a former 9th region and 10 region coach who has real close friendships with the superintendent has been in several talks about the job.

Look it is common knowledge that the football program gets 100% of the principal's support.....everything else is an inconvenience. Lets see he has run off Minor, Wolfzorn, Vories, and Herald. With Minor and Wolfzorn being great coaches....................He allows parents to rule the basketball program and that is unfortunately the downfall and doubtful if it will change.

He can be entertaining at times but he spends too much time worshipping guests and ripping those that do not come on

He is a class act he will do well.

This recruiting process is like starting all over.......
