Had BW adopted Krumps small strategy for this game alone... this game could have been won earlier and by a wider margin. The Tigers had no problem getting kids on base. They just couldn't get them moved over.... and there were some base running mistakes. BW stranded several runners. Pitzer did get them to hit a lot of ground balls. CCH needed, and got, a very good game out of Langguth at ss. Anyone know how many K's Combs had? For the first time pitching at CCH he did a great job.

I would agree that whoever draws St. Henry will have an advantage (no disrepect intended). Any other #2 would require a very good pitcher. After yesterdays performance against CCH, I would love to see Combs pitch against Highlands in the final. He is dialed in.

Will not playing the harder schools; like Dixie, Franklin County and a good Ohio school help or hurt this years team? I see less injuries, but not sure anyone on the schedule other an Cov Cath game being much of a challenge (BW will only win by 12 over cov cath this year).

No fault to this young man, but it is hard to considered all of these stats when the best team Calvary faced all year was Ludlow and they run ruled Calvary. Bring him to Beechwood... this in not a recruitment just an example. (wink)

JV: Beechwood 6 Newport Central Catholic 5. Tigers will play Cov. Cath tomorrow, 5PM at Highland Park in the semi-final.

He only plays freshman for CC but he could start varsity for most schools? With a 16-12 record I would think CC varsity could use such a pitcher.

Beechwood 3 Holy Cross 1. This game was played at Covington Complexd. On an earlier question: I believe it is wrong to bring down a player only at Tourney time. If a player has played some lower level games throughout the year then its okay to bring them down for the tourney. Seen it very recently where a boy pitched only varsity all year but pitched JV tourney.

Beechwood 13 Newport 1 in 5 innings. This game was played at Newport HS.

Congrats Eagles. That is a very good baseball team. They have a classless student section that sat behind Beechwood's bench and heckled players, but the team is fun to watch.

Dates of the JV Regional tournament are: May 11th, 13th, 15th(Semis) and 16th (Finals). Post the matchups when you hear them.

The draw was this evening. If anyone gets the information I hope you will post it. Aviator (you got your ears on) did a website for these tourneys last year... hopefully we can get another set up to follow.
