  1. Baby Tigers improve to 12-0 on the season. Burch and Schlinger worked the hill for the Tigers and Cooper and Gangwish for the Pioneers. Timely last inning hitting propelled Beechwood.
  2. I know Doty worked all winter at Midland for catching... does he not catch at all for varsity or jv?
  3. The strike zone hurt Combs the most. The pitch that Eads was getting was way in on Combs for a strike each time.
  4. Fieger has to be the number 1 at this point. The 2, thus far, has been Donnie Bankamper. Unlike the poster above Combs was, IMO, not dominant today and I don't think he has shined yet this season on the mound or the plate. He will. He diffidently will.
  5. Combs started for Beechwood, followed by Huesman and closed with Stringer. #2 pitched the entire game for Ludlow. It was hard to hear the name but it may have been Eads.... sounded like "C". 2 kept them off balance for the entire game. The umpire was giving 3 balls outside on the right side of the plate and it helped 2 greatly. Beechwood pitchers were not getting to that spot. 2 also had a heck of a game at the plate.
  6. The junior Tigers improved to 8-0 with a comeback win. The 4 run 6th was capped off by a 3 run dinger by Lucas Benson. Beechwood started Wilder, he went 5 and Bode finished in relief. Next up... Campbell County Camels on Saturday.
  7. With all do respect, TDY, without the school coming out and giving the facts and sharing reasoning of the punishments... it's all anyone can do is speculate. Should school get out in front of this? If it is blown out of proportion wouldn't it be in their best interest to nip in the bud? I know as a HHS fan you want to uphold the integrity of the school. Makes sense. What bothers most people is that your are doing this at the cost of kids being humiliated and bullied. HHS is a great school, but it has some flaws. People, from HHS, on here and on Twitter said that this is 'nothing'...stuff like this happens all of the time in the locker rooms. If that is the case then this is not a isolated incident. This is vile... anyway you look at it. Its the same as throwing feces on someone. The school admin staying silent on this was a horrible choice or policy.
  8. Yes. Not sure if he hit his pitch count or that they just wanted to get another pitcher some innings, but IMO the game was over had he pitched another inning. That was the 3rd game by Beechwood that day, but I overheard that this game was Dixie's 4th of the day. Wow. Guess you have to get them in when you can.
  9. The game should have been 12-0 and ended in the 5th, but the SS passed up on a short throw to second only to throw it away at 1st. Wheels fell off after that. Bankamper started and pitched well for the Tigers went 5 strong.
  10. I figured that Kennedy would be the JV catcher... so Maher on Freshman doesn't surprise me, but Maile on Freshman is a shocker. JV must be loaded.
  11. Tigers are off to a fast start... now 6-0. This game was played at Scott High. Next game Friday, home against Connor.
  12. JV Tigers move to 4-0 on the Season. Pitchers: Clay Trusty (3 innings), Keenan Bode (3) and Noah Huesman (1).
  13. This outing, the boy was under 80 pitches and he also throws a lot of knuckle balls. There was little stress, the weather was warm, he's been throwing bullpen since December. Blanket statements are dangerous.
  14. The Freshman Tigers improved their record to 5-0. This game was played at Boone County. Who ever is now taking care of the Boone County Field... You are doing a great job!
  15. Beechwood Varsity moves to 2-1 on the season. This game was played at UC, part of the Reds Showcase series.
  16. Tigers pitchers: Bode (3 innings-scoreless), Wilder (2) and Huesman (2). Tigers JV moves to 3-0.
  17. Baby Tigers moved to 4-0 by beating the Spartans of Turpin. Brayden Burch pitched a complete game.
  18. Beechwood Varsity plays Turpin, at Turpin High School 2PM.... Sunday (Today)
  19. ..And SK Freshman canceled on Beechwood, Thursday. What do you make of that? Odd.
  20. Good article. One thing: how are you a volunteer, but you do get compensation? I think true volunteers should get the ultimate margin for error. If I am paying to you to do a job, along with another coach, we expect a certain amount of hustle, experience and decision making. I do think some of coaches expect mlb umpires for 60 bucks and game, but most coaches know that there are going to be flaws in game calling at most age levels. You are right, along with umpires the coaches should know the rules. Good stuff.
  21. That's the Notre Dame of high school schedules. lol. Tough road.
