  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that a year or two before the three point goal, also he did it against a decent Holmes team.
  2. I think the Charles Hurt no goal tending call now days would really hit social media, what some folks don't know is the following year, Holmes was to have that same official, Coach Flynn refused to play if he was officiating, so they let one of the jv officials stay and work the game.
  3. I am not going to look numbers up, and I think they have good coaches, does he really have more wins in Northern Ky than Ken Shields, Reynolds Flynn, Mote Hills to mention a few, just curious.
  4. David M .Evans field house at Holmes, lots of great players have been on that floor, I also enjoy Henry County's gym.
  5. Dixie led in scoring by sharp shooter Griffen Derry with 24, Holmes led by Sophmore Mark McCutchin with 23. Good to see and chat with former Holmes lengardy Coach Reynolds Flynn tonight. No quit in the Holmes players, played hard until the buzzer.
  6. They graduated around 150, give or take a few either way, compared to over 400 when I graduated in the 70s. Checks Holmes roster oh khsaa, no one listed over 6 ft tall, they start 0 seniors. But the effort is 100 per cent there.
  7. Not official stat but Williamstown led by Colton Feagan with 29, Mark McCuthcin led Holmes with 23. Outstanding effort by the Bulldogs tonight.
  8. Congrats, probably won't see many 50 year officials in any sport. Thanks to Charlie for hanging in there.
  9. I just made it 5 to 4 Steelers, not that I'm rooting for them at all, but in close low scoring games, they seem to win, give me Tomlin in a close game.
  10. 35 to 8 Grant on a rainy home coming game. Holmes has the bye next week.
  11. Good guy, good coach. Lot of coaching changes this year.
  12. Covington Catholic, like some one said, by how much they want. Holmes just got hit hard by graduation last year, 2 off that team got offers from Eastern to play football, Holmes has been pretty good the last few years, with around 28 on the roster and 7 are freshman, it is a building year for sure, lots of respect for Coach Nevels and staff, hope the players hang in there, they will be much improved next year. Hope everyone stays healthy, I think CCH can make a deep run. Good luck to both teams.
  13. Holmes and Scott next Friday in Covington, both teams looking fir a W.
  14. Nice to see a win for Bellevue, congrats to all involved.
  15. Tom Ellis Stadium at Holmes High School, Coach Ellis at one time was the AD, baseball coach, basketball coach and football coach, and that was all at the same time, Coach Ellis moved to Covington from the mountains of Ky and I believe started at Holmes in the middle 40s and coached until very late 60s.
  16. Holmes had 27 players dressed last night, just very young, got hit hard by graduation, and some very good freshman and sophomores, will get better with time.
  17. Still just overcast in Florence, but getting much darker.
  18. Just read where many of his former players from UC are heading to visit Huggins, he has many faults, like so many of us, and will never agree with him driving under the influence, but he has touched many young mens lives, I hope he gets help and return in a year.
  19. Tuesday June 13 th will be the junior/ senior all star game at Dixie for fastpitch softball, junior game is at 5, Senior game at 7.
  20. Class guy, I had the good fortune of playing à round of golf down in Woodford county many years ago in a high school coaches outing, each team got to play with some collage coaches, I was very excited to play with Coach Crum, he talked alot about fishing, I have been a UC/ Louisville fan forever. At the end of the round, he gave each of us two golf balls with the ncaa champions logo and signed them, also have a picture of him buy the golf cart, one of the best coaches in my mind ever and à class guy.
  21. Ross deserves his shot for sure, hope he gets named.
