  2. Even though Owen has already defeated Walton this season?
  3. Very good point. I have heard that Carson said there was no way he was going leave his teammates and friends that he has been playing with since he was in 1st grade. He missed a couple varsity games because of loyalty to them, so what? I agree that he had no business playing middle school but he wanted to play with his friends and have fun with them. You have to remember, he is still a little kid. I believe his last middle school game is tonight according to Sutton, and then his focus will be 100% on the varsity, whose season is just getting started. To clarify jumpball's post and answer some questions, Owen does not end their season early just so middle schoolers can play up. Most middle school teams in our area's season is from October til December. They still have 20 games and conference tournament, just like everyone else. With schools in this area with the enrollment so low, most freshman teams can't begin play until the middle schoolers (8th graders and some 7th) come over and play with them. However, it is correct that a rule is in place that a middle schooler cannot come over and play strictly varsity without playing in their appropriate age group first. Agree that it is an idiot rule that did involve parents and administrators getting involved that did not have the students' best interest at heart. This was an issue several years ago with Jarrod Ball of Owen when he decided not to play middle school and only play high school. Because of this stupid rule that had just been put in place that year, he had to sit out of the high school games until the middle school season was over, even though he wasn't playing. Who is this really helping?

  5. This was such a low scoring game. Neither Sawyer or Carson Williams played tonight. Sawyer was out with a hurt foot and Carson had a middle school game. The Rebels struggled getting the ball up the floor against Gallatin's defense but came back from being down at the half. Cooper Taylor started in S. William's place and had a great night! I don't think the Wildcats were ready prepared for him. Congratulations to the Rebels! I am looking forward to this matchup again when middle school is over and everyone is healthy.
  6. Looks like Owen's Sawyer and Carson Williams will not be participating in tonight's contest. Sawyer is out with a foot injury and Carson has a middle school game. This will definitely hurt OC.
  7. Someone asked where she went to kindergarten and I answered the question. Maybe you are a little oversensitive. It is what it is. They live where they live.
  8. Probably Williamstown becuase that is where she lives.
  9. Exactly. Maybe they should take the whole week off before that game so their tank is full.
  10. I look at WV having 3 tough games leading up to this as being an advantage over Owen. Owen had only played Williamstown (which they defeated 72-18). Seems to me it would make WV much more prepared than Owen going into this game. I really looked for Owen to struggle in this game due to this. If WV had come out on top this game, I think the discussion would be 'how more prepared WV was than Owen because of their schedule' and not "Oh they were tired".
  11. I misread the post before. They were talking about girls and I was speaking of the boys. Owen 7th grade boys defeated Walton earlier in the season at the NCKC tournament...That is what I was referring to.
  12. He is starting at Auburn in January. He is Dixie's missing link right now. They have every position filled except that one. If they had him, they would be a top 10 team for sure. Without him, I agree with where theguru has them placed.
  13. I heard he had 2 more dunks tonight in OC's victory over Bondurant Middle School. This brings his dunk total up to 8 for the season if I can count correctly.
  14. Saw the video of that dunk...I thought it was more impressive than the 2 alley oop dunks he has had this season. He had 3 players on him and drove through the lane and slammed it...then drained the free throw for the 3 point play. This kid is the real deal.
  15. North Oldham does not have the best post player. Very overrated.
  16. A lot of people don't know this, but the Rebels have dedicated their season to fellow classmate/cheerleader, Rebekah Gaines. Rebekah was a senior at Owen County High School and past away a few weeks ago when she lost her battle with cancer. No matter what happens tomorrow night, this put the Rebels entire history-making season into perspective.
